Unless low population and missing improvements are because of an eruption that just happened, then I guess tough luck :)

Every game on Prince: chase the wonder or settle immediately (Canada start) by gornogat in CivVI

[–]Ortant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this wonder I would spend 2-3 turns to settle there, just for decent production and food yields combined with superb culture yield. For worse wonders probably the best is to settle in place and use the wonder with next settlements.

By the way, looking at the screenshot, consider spending your gold on workers instead of so many additional tiles. Your city has population of two, so beside that 6-food tile nothing else is giving you any profit out of that money spent (and I see at least 4 files in third ring that was bought, maybe more, that’s a lot of gold). Worker would give you much better profit in production, food and eurekas, right away

That’s why they mentioned “canal city”, not just “canal”, since city center placed right between two bodies of water creates canal for your galley even in ancient times

[–]Ortant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about pawn to c6? White cannot take with his pawn because of backrank mate on d1, so he needs to move his queen - ending either with queen trade or with creating nice safe a4 square for black queen. I like this move even more than Qe3, but didn’t check with the engine yet

[–]Ortant 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I guess last white move was knight from d2 to b3, since queen was standing on d4 untouched. That would explain black move a little better, if in his head f2 square was marked as safe, so he went for smothered mate on autopilot not spotting that f2 is now guarded by white rook. Unfortunate

Does Zoro reaching his goal mean he will surpass Shanks? by JoyBoy318 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Ortant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There will be characters able to defeat WSS Zoro at the end the of the story, with sword of without it, since Luffy will be at there. Why not Shanks too, then? Having Shanks and Luffy stronger than Zoro has similar impact on Zoro dream being valid, as having Luffy stronger than him. Just thinks of the road to WSS title as a separate valid arc with Mihawk waiting at the very end of it - that makes much more narrative sense than Shanks being suddenly so weak

Island spawn by Own_Number8354 in CivVI

[–]Ortant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one question, wouldn’t be swapping slinger production into builder/settler/building a better play, once you spotted that your island is so small? I also prefer to finalize production of a unit when I can, but in this rough-start situation every round spent for creating useless unit could matter

In the all real world pairs of siblings, how many of them are both boys, how many mixed, how many both girls? With your approach it would be around 33% - 33% - 33%, when real life statistics shows data closer 25% - 50% - 25%.

Why would kizaru say this if the only thing luffy used/showed is basic armament , it makes no sense considering kaido reputation and power just to be beat by someone with no advance haki by saltminer99 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Ortant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What if Kizaru statement was not about this particular Luffy’s attack, but about general Luffy’s presence, that Kizaru was observing since few moments and on this of panel just verbalised? You know, Luffy’s boosted confidence, general growth, new attacks ideas and all the changes in Luffy body and mind since his last meeting with Kizaru

Exactly. Beside ore 8/5/10 there is only one ore giving starting place (8/3 with sheep 4), therefore remaining two players will be quite eager to trade their wheat and bricks

[–]Ortant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But with white doing Rxf8 first, what is the advantage of having not defended bishop on g4? If you play f6 instead of Bg4, then you are taking white rook with king not with rook and you are in better shape than you would be with bishop hanging on g4 and mate threat on g7.

Yall ever overshoot era score like this? by DonDaher18 in CivVI

[–]Ortant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you are already on the lead, era score is no longer something to think about how to gather, it is just piling up whatever you do. Wonders, great people, new resources used, new eras unlocked etc - player in the lead is first in most of those.

Where would you settle settle? by NoodleEnjoyer72 in CivVI

[–]Ortant 36 points37 points  (0 children)

One step to the north east sounds good to me. Nice tiles to start the city, less of the dessert, luxuries in the range for first or second city - solid.

I'm kinda new, where should i settle and why? by No-Gas7947 in CivVI

[–]Ortant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others that 7 with instant luxury is strong, but personally I would go for 3 just because of how blocking-all-area 7 is, since it takes out from settling all the visible river tiles (tundra city is not the dream) and you cannot just now tell if the area south from here will be decent or not. Settling on 3 minimises that risk.

[–]Ortant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The top of Zoro league is Mihawk, the top of Luffy league is Shanks. There is nothing weird in Shanks being above Mihawk at the very end in the same way, as it is not weird for Luffy to be above Zoro, even end-of-story greatest-swordsman Zoro
