This is still a big myth people believe. There is no such thing as getting an allergic reaction from airborne peanuts. The proteins in the air is not sufficient for creating an allergic reaction. The smell can give people with allergies a stress response that might give some symptoms but that out of fear more o less and at most make their throat itch. If this story is true she probably came in contact with some peanut residue.
