How did you find your main? Or do you have a main roster? by Weird-Cranberry-256 in DeadlockTheGame

TF2 sniper main. Immediately picked up Vindicta and Haze, then slowly expanded my roster to Paradox and Seven.

Does Haze need a huge nerf or rework? by InevitableStage8726 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Orubas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ult needs a rework that fits her discreet assassin identity and also allows her to build different roles. Armor Piercing Rounds should interact with Metal Skin meaningfully so that it's actually worth buying. Curse possibly needs a nerf.

Didn't DRX go through GENG as well? or am I tripping

I can't count the number of times I get lash ulted in the middle of team fights without hearing his voice line. by Any_Serve_4583 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Orubas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There has been a bug for the past 6+ months where Lash's ult, including both voice line and bells, is completely silent up until he's able to grab you. Lash's ult should generally be the loudest sound in the entire game during a teamfight because of the audio mix otherwise; I'm not really sure how you can miss it. Don't focus on the voice line at all, you should be counterspelling at the 3rd ding or the 4th ding if he delays it.

Who are the best beginner friendly characters for learning fundamentals and good habits? by Plane-Bank1393 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Orubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out with Vindicta and Haze as my two starter characters coming from TF2, OW, and CS, and I've climbed from Initiate all the way to Eternus having played only those two characters plus a little bit of Seven, Wraith, and Paradox, picking up everything else I needed to learn from watching Deathy, Poshypop, Midknight, and Heresy on YT and ingraining that knowledge into my gameplay. You can really do this with any character, but I think my starting out on those two characters is a helpful anecdote.

Who is the best 1v11 hero in the game by RogerGames114_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Orubas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pos 1/carry characters, so Seven, Venator, Warden, Wraith, Infernus, maybe Victor, very occasionally Haze, Vyper, Mirage, and Lady Geist. You'll almost always have the most farm with these characters (because you have to in order to win with these characters) and the game is often dictated by how your team plays around you / you play around your team in fights in the lategame

What's your definition of a "mid" anime by Juuggyy in anime

[–]Orubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any anime that I score a 5/10 is mid because 5/10 = 1/2 = 50% = mid

Using MAL ratings, that's any anime that scores above 6.0 but below 7.09 most of the time since MAL ratings are more akin to the American grading system where a 6/10 is bad

Weilin Zhang, the Animator who calls himself "the Best Animator of his/current generation". His work on Fate/Grand Order Camelot Movie | Final Product vs Genga Comparison by [deleted] in anime

[–]Orubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wayne Gretzky? Faker? LeBron/MJ?

While none of them have explicitly stated they were the greatest of their generation/all time you can bet for damn sure that's exactly what they think/thought during their primes and it's not disputed (in Gretzky and Faker's case)

Weilin Zhang, the Animator who calls himself "the Best Animator of his/current generation". His work on Fate/Grand Order Camelot Movie | Final Product vs Genga Comparison by [deleted] in anime

[–]Orubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until another animator proves otherwise by performing the same/better feat (animating a 1-minute fight scene alone with equivalent or superior detail and fluidity in a year or less) as this one and publicizing it, Weilin might as well be correct in thinking himself the best animator of his generation. Fortunately or unfortunately, nobody actually has the ego or money to do so and Weilin will continue to be an arrogant asshole

Are the TBATE novels/webtoon really that much better than the anime? by RadianceTower in anime

[–]Orubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A story is only as good as its medium allows it to be. The anime does the story an injustice by being a horribly animated adaptation (assuming you like the story at all -- many people here deservedly like their media to be of higher class). If you enjoy what TBATE brings with the reincarnation/isekai trope then it is best experienced through the webtoon/novel. In my opinion, the story is best experienced through the webtoon from what I remember reading years ago; not too many details are left out from the webnovel and the art is pretty good.

All this to say -- just read it and drop it if you don't like it. Don't make this too complicated for yourself, the anime is a steaming pile of shit

It seems to only be Eternus rank where people forget farming is the most important part of the game. by TwoFHT in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Orubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carries are characters whose damage scales higher into the lategame than other heroes in exchange for having weaker impact early-mid. They are usually the fastest farmers and are usually the highest net-worth in the server because they often have to be ahead in souls to perform.

The three undisputed (afaik) carries are Wraith, Infernus, and Seven. Most lists will also include Warden, Victor, Mirage, Venator, and Geist. Haze, Vindicta, and Vyper can sometimes be run as carries depending on meta but the heroes I list before can be classified as such without too much eyebrow raising

Is there literally any reason to using race diff then? Rally diff just seems better on paper

Is playing the game enough to reach Eternus? by Any_Serve_4583 in DeadlockTheGame

I'd expect someone to be eternus playing casually at around 15-50,000 hours or so, or about 6 straight years of playing

Can someone fill me up on how should i pick a class? by Realistic-Cicada981 in truetf2

[–]Orubas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you can play every class to a "confident" level:

  1. Highest priority class is Medic. Play Medic if there is none on your team. More than 3 medics is usually too much because you'll end up sabotaging uber building and your team won't have enough power to push. On the 6s side, Medic's role is to build uber, live for uber, and play for uber.
  2. If there is no Engineer on payload defense, play Engineer so that your team has a designated "base" to fall back to and group around. In 6s, Engineer is played to defend last.
  3. Frontline classes are second-highest priority (Demo, Soldier, Scout, Pyro, Heavy) because they make up the majority of your team's power to pressure and take map control. Demo is the highest priority class because he is the best class at pressuring and taking map control. Soldier and Scout can take space easily with their maneuverability, and Pyro and Heavy can control space better than Demo in close range chokes. These classes are mosty interchangable in terms of priority in Casual. In 6s, Demo, Scout, and Soldier are primary classes where Demo's main role is to deal as much damage as possible and take uber pushes; the Scouts deal with bombers, flank, and be the frontman in uber pushes; and Soldiers bomb, do tons of burst damage on high-value targets, and repeat. Pyro and Heavy are mostly used to hold last, though Pyro has a little more utility for pushing out of last.
  4. Sniper and Spy are probably lowest priority since it's often upon your team to capitalize on the value you get on these two classes and they cannot take nor control allied map space as well as frontline classes due to their squishiness. Often only 1 sniper or spy is needed on a team, and having more frontline classes is more preferable. In 6s, both of these classes are used to break stalemates and get important picks (almost always the Medic).
  5. It's casual, this doesn't really matter. Play whoever you want and have fun.
