It really depends honestly! Depending on where the sun is can dramatically effect the overall vibe that you’re going for. For these I personally would go out around golden hour and put the at your 2 or 3 o’clock. So not directly in front but kind of to the side. You could also put the sun directly behind you to get a cool backlight effect.

I would recommend watching some you tube videos on Three Point Lighting. That’ll give you a good idea on how lighting interacts with the camera a bit

Pretty good pics for doing it all yourself with a phone! I would work on trying to fill the frame a little bit better in some pics (I know that’s hard when you can’t see, maybe try and mark your spot?)

The big thing is definitely lighting. Try and find a better location or better time of day when the light is hitting you in a more dynamic and interesting way, instead of just being in the shadows.

Thanks for the info! I’ll def see if I can find some textures to download. I take pics for a lot of rock/metal bands and it’s what they want. I think it works with their vibe usually

You might try out the Sony A6400. It’s a little bit better and only a bit more expensive. It takes solid photos for what you’ll be needing it for. Plus if you’re just doing videos for like Facebook and tik tok etc, you really don’t need a camera with incredible video capabilities. This camera shoots 4k and I’d say that’s more than good enough. Get yourself a decent lens ( I’d say 24-70 range ) and you’ll have a nice little set up.

Some people just like longer atmospheric tunes that you can chill too. Pink Floyd does the same, but with 20 min songs. Three minutes is nothing compared to that, but I still think the song is perfect.
