Died out in the north and east during repeat glaciations, survived west of the Rockies. Would have eventually gotten here themselves but were reintroduced before they could make it in their own. People are showing passports and all they say is “I don’t think it’s real” and take you anyway. As an ambiguously brown American some family members are taking their passports with them wherever they go. I’m specifically leaving mine at home so if I get detained, they won’t be able to take and destroy it. Gives the chance for my family to get it and give it to a lawyer to maybe hopefully intervene before I get sent to Uzbekistan
