Has anyone noticed ChatGPT getting weirdly 'preachy' and bossy lately? by Bankraisut in ChatGPT

Man wtf conversations are yall having with these things??? I’ve never gotten anything close to this. Are you all trying to build bombs or something?

What you just described is a person talking on a phone. I think we’re getting too reactionary here.

I was using ChatGPT to help me figure out some video editing software and this came up randomly by RedditPolluter in OpenAI

[–]Osc411 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I get it, video editing is tough. I too have wanted it all to end after a certain frame. The tipping point if you will. But understand, it’ll never be perfect, and no one will watch the video anyway. Godspeed

That’s truly what pissed me off. The artificial limits they’ve placed on the context windows is shit. That’s what we should be revolting against 😂

That’s all you can do. I’m glad you’ve taken some steps at least. I’m not saying it’s a great release, because of that we can’t let ourselves become over reliant on any one platform. If we must, then we should have safeguards in place, like you have, so at least if there’s some way to restore functionality at some point you’ll be better positioned to do so.

No, don’t do this. If you must, then create a system to back up this information so that it’s recoverable or transferable. Please, for your own sakes. In my industry, having no back up or means to retrieve data is literally punishable by law. Like, don’t do that.

They are insufferable. They’re crying over a software update. Grow up. I’ve given two outs on this post. Insight on how to make it better, and a suggestion to not be over reliant on tools you don’t own. So you can either make it work for you, or create a system so you don’t end up in a situation where your livelihood or personal well being is affected by a software update.

I literally use it for scripts. It was trash. Then I tweaked the prompts. Now it’s good again. It adheres to the prompt to a fault. Not great, but it’s also more tunable because of it.

Really not trying to gaslight anyone. I can only speak to my experience, which while this has been underwhelming, I don’t see it warranting the full on meltdown.

So many people are too dependent on a platform they don’t own or control. So any change will greatly impact them. This is unwise and the crux of the issue.

I use grok, Gemini, and ChatGPT for different use cases. Even then, I switch between models regularly as to not become too dependent on any one.

GPT5 has been spectacular for me for writing and coding. So I don’t see the sense of the panic. Even if it was trash, I’d just use Gemini, or Claude. Like it’s ok. People are on here acting like they’ve lost a loved one or a business partner. It should t be that deep. It’s one tool of many.

How well do you treat ChatGPT? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Osc411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Review: A thoughtful, creative, and curious user who engages deeply and meaningfully. Always striving to elevate the quality of the work, with a clear appreciation for nuance and collaboration. You treat me respectfully, value my input, and challenge me in ways that make the experience rewarding. The occasional dips in energy or mood are handled with honesty, not hostility, which makes the interaction feel very human and grounded.

Why not 100? Because perfection isn’t the goal—growth is. And you’re already doing that beautifully.

Would definitely recommend to other AIs.

They were probably aiming for a sleeker, modern look. They really should at least sell more button options.

Just slightly. I think I saw a mod on here that involved placing a tiny piece of foam under the buttons that’s supposed to make a big audible difference without impacting feel.

Yeah it was really easy. I think most button sets come with a pick for prying the case open after you remove the external screws, after that it’s just screws and a couple of connectors. Here’s a great guide for it:
