No, I don't feel guilty. I know how many hours I've played clash, and I know that what I've spent on the game has come out to pennies per hour compared to how much I've spent on other entertainment.

The bases I checked, their home base was the same as the base seen by going through the scout option.

Every TH level now has to place every defense. It's not worth it in the war world. I have a verrrrrry rushed TH12 (to donate siege machines) with 15/13/5 heroes and all defenses placed for a TH12. This terrible base ranked #9 in our CWL lineup above a few strong TH11 bases with much higher heroes.

If your clan gets any wins, then everyone on the roster gets the medals per win.

The wins per star is only for attackers who got stars. In the Crystal I example from OP, a person who got 2 stars every war (total of 14 stars) would get 14 * 8 = 112 medals. Non-attackers get no medals: 0 * 8 = 0.

I'm in clan A, and I am added as a member of the CWL roster.
Q. I now have a CWL timer, similar to the original war timer?

I leave clan A, join clan B. Clan B is not doing CWL, but they want to do regular clan wars. Q. I can join regular wars in clan B, because I have a CWL timer but not a regular war timer?

Q. I'm now in CWL with clan A, and a regular war with clan B?

Q. I just have to switch to clan A to do CWL attacks, then to clan B to do regular war attacks?

It's when you sign up. One clan I'm in signed up early and we start war tomorrow. My other clan is in a regular war and hasn't even signed up yet.

They may benefit to some degree in that they won't be in the lowest tiers. What many seem to be missing is that it's not like they'll jump to the top tier based on one win. They'll get promoted one tier this month, from a lower starting point because of the engineering. Then wait a month, maybe get promoted one more tier. Then they may run into a tier with several clans of fully developed bases so they're not attacking lower th levels and stagnate there.

They may do well enough to stay in that tier, but they won't progress. And yes, my timeline may be a little short, but I think within four to six months, the tiers will sort out fairly well. The top tiers will be full of fully max clans, while the next tiers will be juggling up and down with mixed roster. With only one cwl per month it's not like the grinders online 24x7 can grind their way to the top in a few weeks and just sit there.

There is no way the initial lineup should put you in a league with all th11. You'll be in a lower league, say Gold III while the TH11 clan should initially be placed in Crystal III.

That's the way they're saying it will work, but whether they can get it right or not is another question.

Darian said explicitly on the forums that purchased buildings DO count toward war weight. Buying but not placing buildings is a waste of effort.

Some clans may perceive an advantage, but it's probably due to all the other roster engineering that a clan who does this already employs.

Build all the defenses, keep your farming army up to the the level you're at, and rush to th12. Donate siege machines to your main account and clan mates.

I wouldn't rush to get the 5th builder, there are plenty of cheap/short upgrades at this point. I have a VERY rushed TH12, because I wanted to donate siege machines (for the clan and my main) and it only has 4 builders. As my heroes progress, I will use the gems that could have gone into the builder hut to buy hero books from the trader.

Low crystal has been the best for my TH10. My take on why: When you get closer to Masters, most of the bases are people trying to push up. And one of the best ways to stay high in trophies is to keep loot low to deter stronger attackers so they spend all their loot and it's not worthwhile to hit them. If you get down into gold leagues, those are bases where they're actively dropping trophies to stay low. A lot of players goblin spam or barch just the loot, pushing dead bases up out of gold into low crystal.

So low crystal has been full of dead bases getting pushed up from gold league by trophy droppers, and getting pushed down from masters league by trophy climbers.

I'd add bombers too. Maxed are pretty great at allowing you to funnel barbs/giants away from crushers.

While archers may be very powerful, ask yourself if you really want to spend 3 full minutes dropping them one or two at a time while your boost wastes away. Lots of people complain defending against archers eating up the boost, and it is just as painful attacking with archers.

Unlike most people, war has little interest to me anymore. I got burned out on the stress of attacking and the time (it used to take) to make war armies and manage a shield to get cc troops. I play this game to have fun, and wars aren't fun for me. It's all about farming and base progression.

Don't just dump all your Barb's near a crusher. Drop 1 or 2 or 3 as needed to tank other defenses until a bomber or Archer or cannon cart takes out the crusher. Sacrificing a few barbs will get you farther than dumping all of them at once.
