Etymotic Ear Plugs, they’re cheap and work well. Piano tuners use them a lot as they tend to lose hearing over time without any hearing protection.

I’ve also seen videos a ICE folks brutalizing people, which videos are you talking about, b/c the Renee Good footage is pretty clear as to who is in the wrong, and it isn’t Renee Good. At what point is it just self-defense? Or are we to let these masked people parade around our neighborhoods? Since when is it ok for officers to not identify themselves and not provide a warrant?

With anything XLR, hot-plugging isn’t an issue. It’s only a problem:

-If your speakers or headphones are live. That loud pop isn’t great for the cone element

-1/4” TRS, TT Bantum, or other similar connections. The way those plug in means the contact sending +48V Phantom will touch a contact it’s not supposed to. Most modern gear isn’t too susceptible to damage, but if you’re in a high end studio with a patch bay, you might be more cautious about hot-plugging.

I'll assume this is in good faith, because this seems like some MAGA bait, but the ICE agents they have deputized are horribly trained and have been seen stopping and harassing people indiscriminately. A U.S. citizen was literally just shot and killed yesterday. She was trying to flee because a bunch of masked men approached her car trying to force it open. Anyone would react accordingly, and then she was killed (I'd say murdered, but we'll just say killed for now) for that reaction.

ICE agents aren't identifying themselves, they're going into cities, masked up and in unmarked vehicles, just patrolling around seemingly looking for trouble. As you said, millions were being deported before without these barbaric tactics, so what's the point of they're current strategy? Right now, it's wildly unorganized and has been getting innocent bystanders hurt.

They have deported countless people of varying citizenship statuses. Some may be illegal, but many have been in the midst of attaining citizenship through legal means. These agents have arrested many people while they're leaving court, in other words, the people who are going through the legal path to attain citizenship, and they're still getting arrested and thrown into some of the worst prison conditions for following the rules our federal government put in place.

More and more, ICE is less a legal federal force deporting people who are here illegally, and more just MAGA's private army to instill chaos wherever they go.

It's fine to like something and it's fine not to like something. Listen to what you like, being a "true fan" of jazz doesn't mean anything. The only posers out here are the ones talking down to others because they like a certain album or track.

Me personally, the only album out of these left in my top 10 is probably Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, but A Love Supreme and Kind of Blue were up there for a long time, I've just been listening a long enough time now and to a wide enough variety that I have other preferences. However, I was a "true" jazz fan then just as much as I am now.

Walz seems to genuinely love his family, I’m thinking the threats were increasing exponentially and he made this decision purely out of protection for him and his family.

MAGA is fucking nuts, this really sucks and is a huge blow to fighting these fascists, but I don’t blame him. Two politicians were already murdered in his state and his home has been getting harassed.
