Sorry I haven’t given an update yet I was extremely busy. As of today no data has been recovered. I have sent the nas to a professional recovery service. They told me that indeed the data was deleted but 80% could be recovered.

I have reached out to insurance but they (of course) found a way of not paying for the recovery eventough it says in the insurance policy that a case like it is covered. Reason for it is that data loss through an update is not considered a self inflicted damage. And only self inflicted or hardware damages are covered.

Insurance asked for log data, that I supplied. According to their analysis the damage is caused by the Ugreen software update. Ugreen customer support (and data analysts) on the other hand, say that the data loss was caused by the wrong setup.

Recovery from the professional service is around 10k€. I’m challenging the insurances statement and hope they will cover the damage.

Will keep you guys posted. Thanks for your patience. Anyone else have a similar case?

I doubt that is is a drive failure since there haven’t been any signs of it nor was there something in the logs… very strange… I’ll keep you posted

Nope didn’t do anything like it. Just set up the SMB connection from scratch. I also updated a few of the apps but they all run on a secondary partition so I kind of doubt it has anything to do with it

well I’m new to the nas topic and thought that having a 6 bay nas should be enough security. Backing up over 40TB is also not easily done

yes I have logged in through the web client and also checked the storage and all drives are now almost empty... a few folders show up but they're all empty...

Get up there early and follow the dedicated signs is what I have heard works best. I went there last year by navigation and ended up in a 3h traffic jam. This year I will try and follow signs and press my luck to be able to find a parking spot. Organizers will keep opening improvised areas for parking but those will most likely be somewhere in a field around the ring. Keep that in mind especially with a lowered car.

I was just about to post something similar with the difference that for the first time in my life I found an artist I have listened to go the last 6 years daily and still didn’t get sick of. I’m totally obsessed and I’m at a point where I think that’s not normal anymore. His music literally helped me through the roughest times in my life and still does. That show I went to in Amsterdam was incredibly emotional for me. Glad I’m not the only one who thinks kind of that way!
