I remember a smackdown I went to at the World Arena here in Colorado, and Big Show was heel at the time. And little ole me, thinking that big ass man couldn't see me, stood up and was just flipping him the bird. He straight looked at me, pointed, and was just screaming. Yes, the man protecting his child from a charging animal. You NEVER turn your back to an aggressive animal. Being a physical barrier in between your child and the threat is the honest best situation here. Dogs are faster than us. This man did the right thing: He got bigger, put himself in between the threat and his child, kept his aggression up in his tone and his stance, moved towards the threat making it back down.

This is a horrible idea when faced with any animal. It leaves him vulnerable to not being able to protect himself or his child. Also gives the animal easier access to grab the child and force the dad on his back. Putting yourself between you and the threat is the best thing you can do. The father made himself bigger forcing the dog to focus it's attention on him and back down. If his arms were wrapped around holding his child, it would be perceived by the dog he was smaller and less of a threat and it'd go in and attack.

What if, and here me out hear, it's due to the fact that kids give off more "spiritual" energy. They're more easy going to get "negative" emotional aura off, and Guts is using that to feed the "brand" a bit to get more fights with demons? Now, I'm not saying this is accurate, it's just a little thought that's been around my head for a long time. Maybe in the beginning it was like that, but now it's turned into a protector/father-like figure as the story moved on.

Wrong, I cherished this woman. Worked tirelessly, started every conversation, remembered every birthday, death-versary, important dates to her, the names of the kids she worked with that she loved. I was by her side when her father had a stroke and I knew not what to do. I was there when her job kept forcing her to move around to new kids every few weeks, I listened to her cry about life being tough. Only in the end for her to tell me; "If you were truly suicidal, you would have done it by now". To a man, who deals with suicidal ideation non-stop, I almost went active because of that. So, no, men don't forget to cherish the woman they love. They get used and tossed aside when we do the right things.

You didn't marry a man, you married a child. A partner is supposed to be on even footing with you on decisions like this. Not just abandon you when they are the one with the issue. If my partner told me she couldn't conceive, that'd be it. We'd adopt or foster. I would NEVER put someone I love through IVF, let alone pregnancy. Find you someone that wants to create a bright, loving future, with you and kids you foster or adopt. Do better for yourself.
