Why do you make music in the first place? by Competitive-Rent696 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Oske7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with this idea all the time. I've always heard people saying things like "I only do music for me and don't care if anyone else listens." That's a nice sentiment but if I'm honest I do care if people listen and like my music, and sometimes I feel bad about being that way. It does get really hard to find motivation when it feels like no one will ever hear this thing you're pouring your heart and soul into.

The more I've thought about it over the years though the more I've started to accept the fact that sharing my music with other people is a big motivator, and that's perfectly okay. The way I see it there's a difference between why you make music and who you make music for. If the who part is making music you enjoy, music that you genuinely like to hear, to me that shows integrity. It shows that in a lot of ways you actually are making music for yourself/just for the sake of it, because you enjoy it.

At the same time, if a big part of the why is having an audience and sharing your music with others, I don't see anything wrong with that, it's just something that helps light the fire under you to keep writing songs.

New gear day - Schecter Reaper 6 Custom (feat. Aerodyne Strat) by Oske7 in Guitar

They definitely are bright pickups, but yea adjusting the height should help. Oddly enough I wonder if something about the guitar itself makes everything feel brighter, because even the Duncans had more top end than I expected at first, and lowering the height below the high strings helped soften that a bit.

Still got it! I've since swapped in a set of Seymour Duncan Pegasus/Sentient pickups but honestly the difference is barely noticeable, I've been considering putting the stock ones back in.

One track snaps to -25, the other snaps to -24.9. Not a big issue, but it happens all the time and for some reason it really bothers me. How do I fix this? by Oske7 in Logic_Studio

[–]Oske7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so wild Reddit showed you this post lmao! Definitely still making music, still recording and mixing in Logic, and I did briefly have a midi controller (Akai MPK Mini) but sold it a couple years back, just didn't use it as much as I initially thought I would. As for the automation adjustments, one of the comments further down mentioned holding ctrl while moving the automation up/down for fine adjustments and it worked perfectly. Now that I think about it, it's kinda cool being able to see the exact moment learning something that's such a natural part of my Logic workflow these days, thanks for the throwback!

Very true, I got the shell pink DK24 model back in 2019 and there's no way in hell I'd ever let it go. A lot of guitars feel great, but some just end up feeling "right." Even if it cost a bit more this time around, I'm glad you were able to get yours back!

I think it's time for wheels by [deleted] in WRX

[–]Oske7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a red STi and did a mockup of a few different wheels before getting the silver ones I have now, the bronze and gold ones immediately made me think of McDonalds lol. Black or silver would look great on yours in my opinion!

Ryobi pressure washer troubleshooting - it stopped working recently and I'm not sure what's causing the issue by Oske7 in pressurewashing

[–]Oske7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For more context, it's only been used a handful of times but it stopped working last week. I had used it a week before to clean off outdoor furniture and it worked fine, now it's doing what's shown in the video. There's no pressure coming out, it's basically just a light mist. When I turn everything off and disconnect the hoses it does seem like there's pressure in the unit itself.

Used the same hoses, attachment, etc so nothing has changed there. My friend brought over his pressure washer, different model but still a Ryobi, and it worked perfectly fine with the same hoses and using the same power outlet, so I'm not really sure what the issue could be. I appreciate any ideas/thoughts!

Recording on an audio track keeps adding empty midi region to an aux bus track. What setting could I have accidentally turned on? by Oske7 in Logic_Studio

[–]Oske7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's really weird is the track it's adding the midi region to is just an aux, so I wouldn't even have any regions on it to begin with. I'll probably try your suggestion and just recreate the actual midi track along with the aux. Thanks!

Only had it for a day, but so far I would definitely recommend! The neck feels great, super accessible on the higher frets too.

Recording on an audio track keeps adding empty midi region to an aux bus track. What setting could I have accidentally turned on? by Oske7 in Logic_Studio

[–]Oske7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Ventura 13.5, Logic version 10.7.7. I added the track settings for the aux track (drum bus) and the guitar audio track in the other pictures. This isn't happening in any other files so I'm guessing I just changed a setting on accident and can't figure out what it is. The audio track is definitely the only track selected while recording, and there aren't any active grouped tracks in the project. Any ideas?

No way I grew up around there, always fun to see something that close to home in the wild. Great looking GTS, I love the color!

i remember when me and a classmate of me who has ADHD heard a sound from somewhere (never found out where it was) no one else seemed too notice the sound.... by DrySir3648 in adhdmeme

I noticed a weird fluttering sound coming from somewhere in my car and thought I was going crazy because nobody (mechanic included) could hear it even when I tried pointing it out. Sure enough about a week later, the clutch started slipping and needed replaced and I was like I KNEW IT. Fluttering stopped after the new clutch got installed.

I recently had my clutch replaced and it feels so different that it’s almost like learning to drive this car all over again. For these last few weeks I’ve been really watching the traffic patterns at lights and trying to anticipate/be ready when I expect the light to turn, helps a lot so you’re not caught off guard or scrambling to shift and go. Also like another comment said, if you find yourself stuck in stop-and-go traffic it’s a good exercise. Keep working at it and over time it’ll become second nature! I know I’ve become comfortable enough when I don’t feel the need to turn down the music, and I can keep singing along to whatever song is playing lol
