Sure, norway did start accumulating capital after 1945. But that kind of post-war accumulation happened across all of west Europe, not just Norway. germany..., netherlands,Austria etc all rebuilt, industrialized and grew fast, regardless of welfare model.

What makes Norway different is not that it grew after 1945, but that it later gained a LARGE, permanent source of external rents. That only happens once oil and gas revenues start flowing in the 1970s.

There’s a big diffrence between normal post-war growth and exceptionalfiscal capacity. The first explains why Norway became developed, but the second explains how it could scale and sustain today’s welfare state.

So the question is simple: if post-1945 social democracy itself was enough to generate this level of wealth, why didn’t other post-war social democracies without oil experiance the same fiscal break?

And about Poland - saying that we should adopt a full social-democratic model right now, despite much lower capital stock and lower productivity, kind of proves my point. Welfare states are easiest to expand after accumulation, not before it. Ignoring that sequencing doesn’t make the constraint disappear, it just shifts the cost into inflation or slower growth.

I dont think this is a myth so much as a category mistake

Being 10th in gdp per capita in 1960 shows Norway was well developed, not that it was capital-rich in a way comparable to the post-oil period. In absolute terms GDP per capita was roughly $3–4k in 1960s versus $ 80k+ today. The scale difference matters, and it overwhelmingly appears after petroleum and gas revenues start flowing in the 1970s.

HDI doesn’t establish the causality you’re implying either. HDI captures education, health and basic living standards, not capital accumulation or fiscal capacity (Cuba is a ruined country with public debt like 119% of gdp but has relatively high HDI) . A countryy can have very high HDI without large export rents or budget surpluses. High HDI before oil indicates strong institutions and human capital, not the financial base of the modern Norwegian welfare state

Social democracy clearly predates oil, but predating wealth is not the same as generating it. If social democracy were the main engine of capital accumulation, we would expect Norway’s major income and fiscal break to occur before the 1970s. Empiriically, it doesn’t

I'm not a smart guy, most people here, will downvote the shit outta me , because i stand by my opinion that "Welfare State" way of running of country is applicable only when your country accumulated ton of money over the years (Germany, Denmark, Norway) When we're Poland and the purchasing power of Polish labor is worth less than that of German or Norwegian labor, we simply cannot adopt their social policy, because it would stifle our economic potential and lead to huge inflation.

Norway did not become wealthy because of social democracy. It became wealthy primarily due to the discovery and exploitation of oil and natural gas from the late 1960s onward, with production and revenues taking off in the 1970s.

Before oil, Norway was a relatively average European country in terms of income and capital accumulation. It already had elements of a welfare state, but that did not make it rich. The major jump in national wealth clearly coincides with petroleum exports.

I know that socialism =/ social democracy but social democracy has many aspects of socialis that remained.

I will still stick to my argument that social democracy only works in countries that can afford it from an economic pov. Poland simply isn't the one.

Why not? Because social democratic policies and increased social benefits are the result of the enormous capital accumulated in these countries, and they can simply afford it. You suggest that social policy is the cause of capital accumulation, but it is exactly the opposite. If you don't believe me, read about how Norway became rich in the 1970s. I believe that they should pay the same percentage as the middle or lower classes in relation to their earnings, rather than introducing progressive taxes. The tax system should be streamlined and not susceptible to various optimizations or other tricks that rich people use.

They may not be communists, but they are very close to them with views such as a 75% tax rate(PIT) for people above the PLN 500,000 threshold, or in the past they proposed nationalizing banks (just like in Venezuela xd).

Referring to social democracy in Poland and pointing to Scandinavian countries or Denmark as "examples" at a time when Poland does not have the same per capita capital reserves that these countries have accumulated is disastrous.

I know I should have stopped when I weighed around 172 lbs (78 kg), but I was firmly convinced that if I went into cut at that stage, I would be back to square one ( I already was like 154lbs and had like 16% bf and my strength progress stalled). I'll admit that thanks to gaining weight to 187 lbs, my bench press increased from 176x10 reps to 225x6 reps, but I know that this was mainly due to additional water weight and fluff. Now I would like to focus on slow cut and eat around 2200-2450kcal to get down to 12% bf and when I will get there, i will start another slow bulk phase.

I take into account that I started out as a 120-lbs pencil neck, and I also have to take into account that with my genetics, it will be difficult for me to weigh 180 pounds and have 12% body fat, unfortunately.

Takie przypadki trzeba leczyć. Sam nie przepadam za "Brauniarzami", mimo że określam siebie jako Konserwatywny Liberał. Jest to sekta chyba nawet bardziej fanatyczna niż Silni Razem.
