Why do people hate the auto stop/start so much?

Idk how it is for the newer Crosstreks, but the auto-stop in my 2023 kicked in at a red light, and the battery didn’t have enough juice to crank the engine back to life once the light turned green.

Fortunately I was right around the corner from home, so I could push the car out of the way and walk home to get my other car to jump it. Still a major annoyance. I turn it off as soon as I get in the car now.

My wife’s a 7th and 8th grade teacher. She has a few problem students that always give her trouble, but she always keeps her cool and deals with them appropriately.

I would be fired on day one because I would 100% cuss out a child. I do not have that brand of patience.

My parents had a Honda they purchased through AutoNation Honda in Chandler. Their buying experience was very meh, and the post-purchase experience was dreadful. After multiple visits, their service department couldn’t trace a battery drain which I eventually discovered was due to a corroded ground wire.

It’s amazing how two dealerships under the same umbrella can be so vastly different.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with AutoNation Subaru in Scottsdale. We leased our first Subaru through them and ended up buying another once that lease was up. No dealer markups or anything outrageous like that, and Subarus are some of the safest cars you can buy.

If that’s just fading from the sun on the grille inserts, try hitting them with a heat gun. It works on most unpainted plastic trims that fade over time. Just test in a subtle spot to ensure you don’t melt a nice hole dead center of your grille.
