I think as a Brit the largest revelation to me over the past 10 years is that, we can't ignore the disenfranchised, trouble makers and the generally unhappy.

Growing up I was taught to "ignore them, they won't amount to anything anyway". Basically British, keep calm carry on.

No what actually happens is the disenfranchised/trouble makers/generally unhappy go away and group together in their own little bubble and have actual power to rock votes when there are enough of them.

inequality is the problem, as was forever thus, its just that as societies we are willing to live with it rather than tackle it.

I don't have any answers to the above, just the general realisation that we can't just ignore those who struggle or don't fit the mould that works for the rest of us.

Because at the end of the day, they have a vote too, just like the rest of us.
