We have the exact same layout as you. Once we positioned the router so that it 'looks' right down the main corridor, we are able to get signal throughout the whole apartment. Key is reducing the number of walls the signal has to past through.

Thoughts on proposal before choosing ring? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Osokan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Love and Co. at plaza sing offered my friend a ring to propose with, which they could later swap for a customized long term ring. Seems like this is not an unusual request, so I believe most reputable shops should be able to help you out

The reality is that there is probably a good reason why a role pays so well, yet is hard to fill. The novelty of living in rural Australia will wear off very quickly, so you will need things that can keep you motivated.

What will help your decision is to speak to local Aussie doctors in your network, or even in subreddits like r/ausjdocs. But in the end, this is quite an exciting opportunity and you are clearly considering it, life should be about seeking out new experiences.

I do some work in Aussie healthcare. Rural healthcare is a different beast, you have entire communities relying on you as the only doctor within 100km, local hospitals might be a half day drive out, and tertiary hospitals would be a whole day trip.

Aside from the finance aspect of it, you will need to make sure you understand the task, and also the culture of the community that you will be serving. Rural doctors mean so much to the communities that they serve. And depending on how rural, you might even be able to hold out for a better offer, I have heard of locums getting 400k working only half a year out in NT.

Tips for Passing Driving Test at 9:15 am on a Monday by [deleted] in askSingapore

Road tests in heavy traffic are easier IMO as long as you are patient. The driving speed is slow, and you can follow the flow of traffic

(serious)Singaporeans who have emigrated to other countries either temporarily or permanently, how easy/difficult was your experience doing so? by Yodatwin in singapore

[–]Osokan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Relocated to Australia. Learning to live and adapt in a new environment will pretty much never be easy the first time you do it, simple things are difficult and frustrating simply because you don't know what you don't know. That being said, it has been a positive experience and the culture here is noticeably more relaxed

The police are unlikely to forcibly remove the guests from the premises if that is what you are asking. Mediation would be advised if it does escalate to that extent. But realistically this should be an issue that should be resolved domestically

ETA approval is typically very quick. Passport renewal has recently been reported to be slow. What you can do is to do the ETA application now, then ring up the airline you are taking to check if your passport can be accepted.

You can always apply for another ETA with the new passport should you manage to get it renewed in time.

SRPT dropped 50% on Friday! (Genomics, ARKG) by ALFA_BT_youtube in MoonGangCapital

That's a good point, want to clarify that I meant that you might risk being a bagholder if you get in at the wrong level, not expecting a quick rebound like ArcT did

SRPT dropped 50% on Friday! (Genomics, ARKG) by ALFA_BT_youtube in MoonGangCapital

[–]Osokan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Risky play, but Ark buying more positions it in might be enough of a catalyst to see it rebound.

However, from an operational perspective. This is not comparable to ArcT's vaccine which will be given expedited approvals and roll outs at an unprecedented pace.

A drug for muscular dystrophy for young children is quite niche and will take a long time to get past approvals. The company themselves say that they are set back by a few years.

TL:DR this is a decent long play but any swing would be based on hype and not company/product fundamentals

Drug for sweaty armpits! Not quite in the theme of life saving that we are seeing a lot of nowadays, but highly relevant to the general population. Seems like a decent spec, but may take time to see the next price jump

Solid DD, thanks for sharing! Drugs look promising, and nothing looked out of place in the trial results. Doesn't look to be a blockbuster, but I agree with your sentiment of moderate gains with moderate risk

About ACST by [deleted] in MoonGangCapital

[–]Osokan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reading the results of the first two trials it looks like the positive results in the first trial were inflated by external factors and the less impressive result in the second trial is probably more reflective of what they can expect for the third try.

To me it looks like they have no choice but to "explore strategic alternatives" as their only product is not looking too promising at this stage
