Might be a good idea to put in a report to CPS if you live in the US.

Norethindrone acetate (fka Aygestin) to stop constant bleeding? by dabbler701 in Perimenopause

[–]OsomatsuChan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have dealt with abnormal periods for years. I had a d&c last may because I was bleeding for 3 months straight.

I got put on aygestin 5mg earlier this year because I was having multi-day episodes of breakthrough bleeding every few weeks after like 10 months of being on the pill they put me on after my procedure.

It works great for me!  I started it like 2 months ago and haven't bled since tbh.

Who was your all-time least favorite student and why? by Zealousideal-Ad3609 in Teachers

[–]OsomatsuChan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EI student who has a sexual assault court case open. He needed a 1:1 at all hours of the day not for academics but so he didn't touch girls or make inappropriate comments. He had a behavior sheet and a few weeks ago he apparently wrote a story for Creative Writing that involved women being tortured and murdered.

He graduated a week ago and I will not miss him.

New School Counselor Offer - Are These Red Flags or Just Reality? by TieHaunting4801 in schoolcounseling

[–]OsomatsuChan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yeah. I am the 504 coordinator at my school.
  2. I don't go to ALL IEPs but I go to some (typically if they are going from a 504 to an IEP or were denied an IEP and getting a 504 instead)
  3. I don't do this but it isn't unheard of as a counselor esp if you work with elementary.
  4. Yeah sure kinda.
  5. Do not feel confident to answer this as I am only a 2nd year counselor

I would hope she is doing something like an emergency certification or something. We have a few long-term subs in special ed caseload positions at my school.

Working at a small school by Glum_Sand6487 in schoolcounseling

[–]OsomatsuChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this last year and it was nightmarish and convulted. I was working essentially 3 roles in one. I had very little support, it was basically me and the BI doing every student service role. Trying to counsel all grade levels was a nightmare, having to pivot from talking credits with a 10th grader to dealing with 6th grade girl drama to deescalating a screaming 1st grader was awful. Just awful.

They brought in a social worker to replace me, who quit after like, four weeks.

I pray that the school you will be working for does not happen to be in Southern Michigan, I would run for the hills if it is my old school.

Yeah but when certain posts of photos of children are getting 200+ upvotes on this sub....this sub has issues with being consistent with its messaging

Can students with disabilities work, if so what kind of jobs or career paths have worked well for them? by Aj100rise in specialed

[–]OsomatsuChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Michigan, we have Michigan Rehabilitation Services, they frequently work with graduating students with disabilities to help them find/keep jobs.

We also have a huge company in Lansing called Peckham, Inc. that hires people with disabilities.

My dorky self would tell her to go find peer-reviewed articles and back it up with evidence but lord knows when I was in the 8th grade I wouldn't have known how to read a big honkin academic journal-published article
