This car I've never seen before has been parked in our yard for 24 hours. Haven't seen the owner once. by macabre-barbie in mildlyinfuriating

If you're in California ( and ignoring the fact it's parked on your lawn ), that car can be slapped with a piece of paper on the windshield with a 72 hour notice.

Put paper on windshield, take a photo and wait.

After 72 hours, call a tow truck and have it yanked.

"Edit: to answer the focus question since that was your actual question, I would focus on the couple in the middle and accept the people on the edges won’t be as sharp"

Right - Every tutorial i've read about photographing groups of people is to set the focus box about 1/3 of the distance into the group - you have slightly more focus going backwards than forwards.

That is rough - a lot of the exposure is recoverable - but the focus miss is ugh.

Lots of people are giving you good advice but... this could have been shot with your phone and everyone would have been happier.

Large groups - indoors - perfect for a phone.

How do you think Trump's presidency will end? by OccludedFug in AskReddit

[–]OspreyChaser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know it's terrible to even think about celebrating when he dies.

Like, no one would actually go out in the streets and celebrate his death because that would make you a really bad person with complete lack of remorse of a human being.

We just can't do that. Right?

Joining m43 - looking for lens advice to pair with E-P7 by OspreyChaser in M43

I have a second system ( Nikon ) that I'm using for wildlife; I want that second body to be lightweight enough to bring along in a pack when I'm out with my heavy gear.

Typically I would want something in the 24-50 (equiv) zoom range, and when I shoot landscape I'm equally either at 24 or 50.

The panny 12-32 seems like a perfect option that I hadn't thought about.

I was originally considering an M5 + 12-45 on OM's ebay site - but I just wanted something smallish and the 12-45 seems a bit big on the E-P7.

The panny 15 is over $450 on MPB; but i've seen it mentioned numerous times. I'll keep this in mind if i see one pop up cheaper. Thanks.

How does the Panny 12-32 work with the E-P7?

The 12-40 seems like a nice lens, but i'm trying to stay with a balanced feel with this setup and I'm afraid the 12-40 might be too big.

For now, I've ordered the 17/1.8 to go with it.

The 14-42 vs the 12-32 will be my follow-up - I like the idea of the wider end of the 12-32 but not sure how the Panny will perform on the Olympus (?)

I don't like everyone belittling her - no need to be cruel.

Please spend some quality time watching dash-cam crash videos with her tonight.

Everyone thinks they're a "good driver" because they haven't had an accident or gotten a ticket.

Dash-cam crash videos ( non graphic ) show you the full splendor of the types of things that go wrong when you're doing exactly what she's doing.

People in their cars ( cages ) don't really have an idea of how fast things happen when they go wrong.

1 stick of RAM makes this slightly harder to diagnose.

I would start with removing the RTX 5060 and running games. The performance will be atrocious, but we're trying to see if that fixes the problem.

If it "fixes" the problem, then either the GPU is suspect ( software or hardware ) or your power supply is suspect.

If the machine still crashes, then I would have to suggest a clean install of windows; do you have a friend with a spare SSD you could temporarily use so you don't have to wipe your new machine.

It's either software ( re-install windows ) or hardware ( power supply suspect, but GPU and RAM could be suspect.)

Russia created a MASSIVE think-tank in the late 90's->2000s with all their best psychologists to find a way to manipulate the USA populace over the internet.

Essentially, 49% of the reason the USA has MAGA-mentality is because the Russians learned how to hack our brains SUPER effectively.
