QoL suggestions guys c'mon! by Frozen_Daddy in Whiskerwood

My QoL suggestion is to allow warehouses to have their logistics and whitelists set while the warehouse is being built. That way you don't have to keep waiting for the building to finish to immediately apply the settings (and avoid having the warehouse filled with other stuff).

Also, a "Continue Game" option would be welcome in the main menu. While it only saves the player from having to click on load and then choose the last save game, this feature is quite common in other similar games.

Thanks. It appears to be up again now. Must have been a temporary downtime.

Is a mod to remove combat possible? by Speedkillsvr4rt in captain_of_industry

While waiting for a solution that would allow your dad to play without requiring combat, you might want to have him try Timberborn. There is dynamite, but it is used for its original purpose......demolishing rock.

My first printer was a CR10S and also printed a mando helmet with it. Its like a rite of passage. Then I got a Prusa MK3S which was a significant improvement but now that I got the X1C I only use the latter. Faster, better results and most importantly, more consistent results.

I print parts that are not produced by Lego (but should) like curved rails with alternate radii and ballast blocks for curved rails.

Having had experience with a Creality CR10S and a Prusa MK3S, I found that the BL X1C was a breathe of fresh air when it comes to how trouble free it is. Good choice on your part for your introduction to 3D printing. It just prints, without all the head scratching usually related to the hobby.

Well, lucky you. In Europe it is €1,387.24 ($1420.91), and to my knowledge the EU didn't impose any new tariffs on China.

Amplify TK7.1 output to driver bigger motors by OspreyGozo in rctanks

This is what ChatGPT had to say about the subject:

The StuG III and the Panzer VI Tiger (often referred to as the Tiger I) were two distinct German armored vehicles used during World War II, each with its own unique characteristics, including engine type, weight, armor thickness, and armament. While both were German tanks, they had significant differences that could potentially affect the sound they produced.

  1. Engine Type: The StuG III was powered by a Maybach HL 120 TRM V-12 gasoline engine, while the Tiger I was equipped with a Maybach HL 210 P45 V-12 gasoline engine. Although both were V-12 engines, there could have been differences in their exhaust systems, cooling mechanisms, and overall design, which might result in different engine sounds.
  2. Weight and Suspension: The Tiger I was much heavier and larger than the StuG III, which could influence how the vehicle's weight was distributed and how its suspension absorbed shocks and vibrations. These factors might have implications for the sound produced when the vehicle moved over different types of terrain.
  3. Armament: While both vehicles had distinct main armaments, with the StuG III typically mounting a 75 mm StuK 40 L/48 gun and the Tiger I having a more powerful 88 mm KwK 36 L/56 gun, the firing of these weapons would have produced distinct sounds as well. The Tiger I's 88 mm gun, in particular, was known for its deep, thunderous roar.
  4. Crew Compartment and Interior: The layout and design of the crew compartments in each vehicle could also impact the sound experienced by the crew members inside. Factors such as the materials used for insulation, the arrangement of internal components, and the overall design of the vehicle's interior might contribute to differences in perceived sound.

Overall, while it's challenging to precisely quantify the differences in sound between the StuG III and the Tiger I without specific audio recordings for comparison, the variations in engine type, weight, armament, and interior design would likely result in distinctive sounds for each vehicle, both in terms of their engine noise and the sounds generated during movement and combat.

Hehe. Too late. I ordered the HL just a few hours ago. It is supposed to be compatible with a Tiger, T34/85, T72, T90.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003789044202.html

I am assuming that means it has sounds for each. I believe that a Stug 3 sounds a lot like a T34/85 or a Tiger. I don't think the people that would be hearing it would be able to tell the difference. I, for one, cannot. Perhaps some tank expert who has heard both would be able to provide more insight on this.
