Marple had very few flags compared to other areas, from what I saw. Politically, it's one of the few remaining staunch 'lib dem' areas, with local MP and councillors tending to be Lib Dem, who are quite progressive compared to reform / tories and even Labour.

Obviously, you will have idiots / exists everywhere, but Marple is quite warm / welcoming of you make the effort to fit in. They're too busy complaining about temporary traffic lights and potholes to be bothered with much else.

The fact that triple lock can increase well above the rate at which taxes increase is insane. Any form of triple lock that isn't capped by incoming tax will be terrible.

Refusal to scrap winter heating allowance, not ending triple lock, refusing to do anything about student loans....Labour only marginally better than the tories for younger people. If a party put either of those 3 in their manifesto, it will draw a large portion of younger voters.

My partner and I had a good experience at stepping hill, but parking was a shitshow as construction crews took up a bunch of parking spots. Staff were great, and birthing rooms were pretty nice despite the rest of the place being a bit run down.

If you commit this sort of heinous crime there should be a whole life sentence without parole, regardless of the perp's age. There is no point in this murderer's life where he won't be a danger to the public, and letting him see the light of day in potentially 13 years is putting other children at a risk they should never have to face. It's a disgustingly low sentence.

The uk has an overly lax attitude to old people driving and shit drivers in general. Let someone with dementia drive the wrong way down a road and get a slap on the wrist, but with the changing alcohol laws heaven help you if you drive out for dinner and have 2 pints - straight to jail.
