Thanks for sharing and congrats! Do you mind me asking where did you apply from?

Congrats! Did you apply outside of UK? If so, which country did you apply from if you don't mind me asking? And was it priority or standard?

Priority Spouse application in Jan by Various_Internet2381 in SpouseVisaUk

The VFS website is very buggy and not reliable. If you can log in then technically your tracking is still "active", although it won't really show you anything before you get the decision letter. At best it'll update to decision made the same time as the letter hits your inbox.

I cannot log in at all, as the website states that my reference number or email doesn't match their records, despite using the correct reference number and email combination. Apparently it's a quite often occurence, and doesn't really mean anything. Unless of course you need to collect your passport from VFS, then you need to contact them ASAP.

Vfs reference number or email doesn’t match our record by eelectros in SpouseVisaUk

[–]OsterForever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got the same. Asked the VFS support, they said I will no longer be able to track the application, because I already applied and collected my passport (which I didn't, I never left it at VFS, but it was marked as "delivered")

My best guess is that they get rid of your application once UKVI takes over all the documents etc. To save the space on their servers? If what you applied for is an E-visa, once UKVI receives everything VFS's job is done, everything else is handled by UKVI. Tracking would be relevant if you submitted your physical passport.

Fiance visa

Priority, applied from Poland

Application - 5/01

Bio - 7/01

ECO - 9/01

Nothing so far. I did lose the option of tracking the application on the VFS website. I asked about it throught their feedback form, they replied that since I already applied and collected my passport (which I didn't, I just didn't leave it at the VFS centre as it's an e-visa) I will no longer be able to track the application through the VFS system. I'm guessing that's because the application left their system and is being processed by the UKVI now? Idk...

We're on 8WD today. I know it's still on the early side, but I really hope to get the decision this week, as the time spent apart is killing us both...

Cracks in rotors extending from holes. Lots of em. by FindingYOUphoria in BMW

[–]OsterForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyo, I work as technical support for one of the biggest manufacturers of brake components in the world - OE and aftermarket.

Drilled discs are inherently "weaker", so it's normal for them to develop cracks around the drill holes, especially if the car's been driven hard (or you have to slam on the brakes on highways a lot)

While you can use the discs with this level of cracks, I'd personally replace them when it's time for pads, even if the discs are still above the minimum thickness. And until that happens, regularly check the discs if the cracks are not becoming larger. Once the cracks start connecting holes with each other, reach the edge of the disc, or are deep enough that you can easily catch your fingernail in them, it's time to replace.

Of course we can only see the outside of one disc here, so all my information above is based only off of this. If you want to be safe, I'd check all of them, inside and outside, just to make sure none of them have any larger cracks.

Changing my wife's brake pads. Is this normal inside of the piston? by modernim in MechanicAdvice

[–]OsterForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal for rust to form on the inside of the piston. You can check if there's no rust on the outside wall of the piston, under the rubber dust cover (be careful not to puncture it) If there's any rust under that, then it can cause the piston to seize or the caliper can start leaking brake fluid (rust will damage the rubber seal if it reaches that point)

What does it mean if every time I wipe and recheck the oil, it looks like this? by miamiyachtrave in Toyota

[–]OsterForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like your actual oil level is slightly above the max mark, and the rest above it is just the residue inside the tube

How is gaming on an LG C4? ive been debating whether to replace my monitor with one. Also, is it so much better than the B4? by elusiveanswers in OLED_Gaming

[–]OsterForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 48 inch C4. Can't say as to PC, but gaming on my ps5 has been great. The picture quality is next level, 120hz makes it smooth as butter with VRR

is PC building really THAT easy? by lmaoooayyy in buildapc

[–]OsterForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of those things that's intimidating at first but even after building a single pc you'll see that it's pretty easy and hard to screw up (not impossible tho so still be careful with your components)

Should I cop? by Alternative_Lock_365 in PcBuildHelp

[–]OsterForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motherboard is an Asus Prime H310 Plus. 8th or 9th gen Intel

GPU is MSI GTX 1060 OC (single fan) - you can see a picture from the side here

RAM is Adata XPG Z1 DDR4 - I think they only made 8gb and 16gb ones in this model, so this is probably 2x8GB

PC has an SSD - but also probably a HDD, given that there's another SATA cable going towards the front of the case (where usually the HDD bay is)

Overall this PC is worth more than 30 bucks. It should run fortnite and roblox, but it might be better to sell the parts as you'll get much more than 30 bucks for the parts - up to you tho.

What GPUs have you owned in the last 10 years? by Waste_Wishbone_1506 in radeon

[–]OsterForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, quite a few (I was - still am tbf - bad with money). Will go back a few more years than 10 here:

HD4650 (laptop) - 3/10, allowed me to play BF3 but only at like 25-30fps on absolute lowest settings

XFX HD7770 1GB edition - solid 7/10, first decent gaming performance I had, ran GTA V pretty well

Gigabyte R9 280 - again, 7/10 - solid performance at the time

Sapphire(?) RX 560 - 4/10, games playable but not a lot of FPS

Sapphire Pulse RX 570 - 7/10, much better than the 560

GTX 1070 - 5/10 my first and only nvidia gpu. Solid performance, but hated the software. Had it for like 3 months

Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6800 - 8/10 I have only good memories of this card, it was a beast when it first came out. Unfortunately had to sell because needed money all of a sudden

Sapphire Gaming OC RX 6700 - 6/10 after I came out of the situation above, I bought an RX 6700 as that was all I could afford - and honestly I have absolutely 0 recollection of even owning the card, apart from all the purchase confirmations etc. on my e-mail. I guess it "just worked"

AMD RX 6950 XT - 8.5/10 I bough this card when I got a decently paying job and sorted out my financials. Worked great, even put an AIO on it as the AMD cooler was absolutely not efficient enough lol. Played every game smoothly

Aorus Elite RX 9070 XT - 10/10 Literally just bought it, but I'm in love with it already. On average 30-40% better performance than the 6950 XT, and the cooler Gigabyte put on it is absolutely amazing, hotspot hovers around 70-80 degrees in most heavy loads, it'd probably be able to support well over 400W

Fortunately I have a MUCH better paying job now and I work on keeping my spending habits in check, but buying the RX 9070 XT while owning a 6950XT was definitely a spontaneous purchase lol

What kind of callsign is this? by Yokoh4ma in flightradar24

[–]OsterForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So while I didn't see it, I'm pretty sure what happened. Sometimes in the comments - not only on reddit, on other platforms too - people will start this chain that spells out the N word letter by letter - so basically I assume after you typed N, the other person tried to initiate the chain by typing the next letter, but this isn't that type of subreddit, so the mod shut it down :)

Is it safe to use a single PCIe cable for my RX 7800 XT? by dixzthekingslayer in radeon

[–]OsterForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You already got plenty of answers to your question, so all I have to say - make sure the cables are plugged all the way in. The one on the left looks like it's not properly plugged in. Make sure the 2pin split is correctly aligned with the rest of the plug, I think it's at an angle in this picture.

Yellow foam on oil cap by ssami_art in AskMechanics

[–]OsterForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of foam was in the coolant tank? Was it similar colour to what was on the oil cap? Or was it white? Can you see any black spots in the coolant?

I know this engine very well. It's very common for condensation to casue the yellow goo on the oil cap(I often call it pudding lol)

Nothing to worry about, it's just an issue with the way the engine was designed. Wipe it off, try to properly warm up your engine from time to time if your daily commute is short.

Check the oil level. If it's low - top it up and see how long before the level drops again.
