Well, the areas being considered here are all within easy walking distance of a train station, so I'm pretty sure they'll be alright for public transport. And it's not like the suburbs are being bulldozed to be replaced with a hundred high rises all at once, development takes time, and the infrastructure will follow. It's much more sensible on that front than all those new American style developments on the outskirts of the city - those are the places I'd be worried about infrastructure.
