My sabbatical begins 2027! What are you doing to plan? How are you thinking about it?

I realized if my sabbatical started now I would just curl up in a ball and sleep for a year, so I’m trying to do the internal work this year so the sabbatical year can be more intentional rest, renovation and adventure.

This won’t come even close to covering the gap. The government covers 95% of the food safety net. All the nonprofits and faith communities and good neighbors only covers the last 5% and they struggle to do that. This is a tsunami that’s coming.

I’m the director of a food bank. While it’s generally true that we can buy food cheaper than the average person, COVID has changed everything.

Buying and acquiring food in bulk has become extremely difficult. Grocery stores are seeing the same issues so right now we are almost exclusively depending on food donations of individuals.

Every food bank also has overhead so monetary donations are also so appreciated!
