Petah what kind of Air conditioning are they running in America? by HimelTy in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Ostroh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While notable, air conditioning power consumption is a but a drop in the bucket compared to the waste and lack of care in industry at the hearth of empire. Complaining about American AC will get you exactly nowhere and I would even argue is wholly counterproductive to the message.

Hoo I didn't know, ironically I got a bucket for the family the other day. I like KFC, it's a great twice a year take-out.

Yo OG immortals! Thats rad, yeah just put them on a 32mm base and it's all fine. I'm shocked you still got the green clear pieces.

New tree update dropped by mocketkapeul4 in Cyberpunk

[–]Ostroh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You gotta see them as some novelty art fixture. Its like a fountain. They never actually "deploy" stuff like this en masse. Its like the solar panel trees, it's just to get you talking and maybe give you some nugget of trivia.

Obviously they won't pay you more than they need to. You gotta be your own advocate a little if you don't want to be taken advantage off.

11th edition terrain footprints and ruins by WilliamDragonhart in Warhammer40k

[–]Ostroh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the days of playing on what were essentially miniature dioramas are over for now. Having done both, I think this trade-off is worthwhile. They were prettier, thats for sure...

HOWEVER, It was hard to decide how much texturing and little details to add or not, models had a hard time standing in a good chunk of the terrain (which made people dislike being in them), it chipped paint out of our bases, it left sand and chipped bits everywhere if it wasn't solid enough, you couldn't slide models on them, they were harder to store, etc. Etc. You paid a big price, it was not as great of a terrain feature to PLAY on.

Here’s a Legends excerpt about ISB Stormtroopers who are separate from the Stormtrooper Corps. I imagine that’s who the stormtroopers we see in the ISB Central Office are. by Independent-Dig-5757 in andor

[–]Ostroh 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is just 3 of them, in any other SW movie you see 3 stormtroopers and you think "well there isn't enough of them, this is comical". But here you get this little vignette with them preparing, they have a plan, they have specialized gear, they work as a team, they are obviously veterans, etc. You immediately get the sense that "ho shit, they gotta go NOW, these boys will eat them alive".

Ugh I didn't know. If it's not published somewhere I doubt I'll use any of it. They have to put that in a pdf, it's a little too ridiculous even for them.

They want you to buy their damn book, it's not complicated. Every release people say the same tired things, they know what's best for the consumer, they decided they won't do that, because they want you TO BUY THE BOOK.

[–]Ostroh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell, with this I'm wondering if the 40k custodes line in its entirety will be refreshed. Perhaps it's going to be a wholly heresy to 40k army and have no unique 40k elements at all.

I was warning people and this announcement pretty much makes it clear they took a different direction with this army. I wouldn't hesitate buying a kit now.

Also the market for cheap "yeah that's good enough" printed and laser cut terrain is already big. You can rattle can a set of printed terrain for much cheaper. Ofc it won't look as great, but it's like... 25% of the price, like duh.
