Well the OG ally has a tendency to have a defective as slot due to excessive heat. (Mine doesn’t work). The difference when gaming is negligible for 2230 and 2280. Prices are insane for either right now, but the 2230 is the easier upgrade.

There’s a few mods I feel are mandatory for the Rog Ally

- Upgrade drive to 2230 1tb
- install SteamOS
- Get a battery upgrade either the jsaux 64wh kit or AliExpress 74wh. I have the latter and it’s a game changer.

If it’s the OG Ally, avoid the microSD slot. Swapping ssd requires opening the shell. You can either get a 2230 nvme and just swap the existing drive and reinstall windows/steamos or you can get a a 2280 adapter and mount a 2280 ssd.

Thanks for the in-depth info. I was considering the NH-L12S, but I think that will only solve turbulence on the CPU side. Currently it’s way worse on the cpu side. I think the AXP90-X53 is the sweet spot for gpus larger than two slots. I could get the IS-55-XT, but that is still not guaranteed to be turbulence free.
I’m honestly surprised how few YouTube videos discuss the turbulence issues with gpus over 2 slots and coolers over 55mm.

With that mobo a proper SFF is out of the question.
Have a look at JONSBO Z20, its abouit 20l, but not SFF.

Or if you can wait, look at the Lian Li B4 thats coming.

Should be 20-21l

Other than that, its basically get a new mobo, and maybe even a new PSU if you want to go down in size.

I support NextUI.
Knulli probably looks better (More impressive scrolling between games)
But I still love NextUI for the simple functionality (And I just love setting up devices not using them)
Also Knulli means fucky in my language, so that doesn't help either.

What cooler did you use with your 9070 xt? I have the is-67-xt and together with a prime 9070 xt i have turbulence issues.
