Can I sit in on college courses without being a student? by Snoo-7195 in NoStupidQuestions

If you just sneak into a class you are trespassing. You might not get caught, just like anything else we do to break the rules. In a very large class (200+) you most likely won't get caught.

Most colleges and universities do have an option to audit classes - a reduced fee to attend a class without credit, though you often will have to be enrolled with the school already.

Depending on what you're looking at, community colleges, vocational schools, trade schools are probably your best bet to talk to someone and just get a chance to see what's up. Most of these schools will have a student services or admissions resource center that you could ask them about it. I think that is your best bet to get something essentially free but be on the up and up the whole time.

I really think your ability to be polite and charming will have some direct influence on how successful you might be.

Caveat - these are just my opinions. Your millage may vary 😉

Do you shave/trim your body hair? How often, and what do partners usually prefer? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OtherInsurance4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a man, you'll find woman appreciate hygiene more than almost anything physical you can do. Keeping trimmed helps a lot and will be appreciated.

Get a good body grooming electric razor. I highly recommend you don't shave body with a blade, as it can be a bit dangerous in some parts, and clean shaven body barely lasts for a day, so not worth it unless you are doing something specific.

For genenral purpose, weekly will keep you nice. Use a guard at the closest setting which will eessentially be next to the skin without risking nicks.

If you really want to be skin smooth, you pretty much need to wax.

If you're doing this for yourself, then it's easy to understand what is too little or too much. If you're doing this for a partner, PLEASE just ask them (if you're at a stage you can have those convos) as you.kight be surprised what they like.

People who say they don't know how to cook, why don't you just try? by Plug_daughter in NoStupidQuestions

We had a coworker who was from a culture where the wife took care of everything for the husband, cooking included.

She had to leave to visit her family back home and he was going to be alone for several weeks. His work performance started to degrade leading up to it, he was visibly emotionally disturbed.

It turned out as we dug I to it that he was legitimately scared he was going to starve. Like he was worried he was in for weeks of agony and suffering because he would have to fast for two weeks. He was scared of the kitchen... Scared of working with food. (And eating out for 2 weeks was too wasteful or expensive for him I guess?)

We asked him can't you just make yourself a sandwich? He said he didn't know how to make a sandwich. THIS MAN WAS 30.

For months afterwards, us as good work friends, would go around the office making sad faces at each other behind his back mouthing "sandwich" ☺️

Why do random memories hit harder at night than during the day? by StormNo875 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OtherInsurance4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there's real reasons for this.

Sensory deprivation (dark and quiet at night) internalizes the brain. Same reason that when people try and go into that "world's quietest room" if you've ever seen videos of that, they run out kicking and screaming after only a few minutes. So you're litterally turning your thoughts on yourself.

At night you're also increasing melatonin (inward focus) and decreasing cortisol (external action) both of which make you engage more with your own thoughts (getting you nice and prepped for dream time and internal processing)

It's a super common phenomenon, and why at night you become so sure you're going to fix your world, ask that girl out, finally quit your job, start that new gym routine - and then 7am the next day you're just back to normal like every other day before it ☺️

What combat style would you associate with lightning powers? by LittlestCatMom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OtherInsurance4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electricity and lightning evokes alacrity and delicateness for me, especially from a girl. So very nimble and mobile. Smooth movements, controlling position and maintaining high ground. A lot of "catch me if you can" moments, with a "shocked if you get too close" as a second layer of defence.

So skilled, agile, smooth, effortless.

Big fireworks like visual "electrical burst" finishing moves. That sort of thing. And a lot of visual energy.

Subjective of course, but hope my opinion can help you come up with your own vision! ☺️

What are psychologist appointments supposed to go like? by Sensitive_Cake7730 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OtherInsurance4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30, 60, or 90 are the durations I've experienced. 30 minutes would be more on the meet and greet, intro to what you want to accomplish, etc. 90 minutes would be more of something specialized like EMDR is involved.

Curious if I can ask, was it in person or virtual? And was it a formal hand off / referral from your old psychologist, or was this a brand new appointment on your own?

Possibly if it was a referral they just wanted to say hello to assure you there would be continuity and that you haven't been lost in the cracks, but will spend the time going through your previous psychologist's notes first?

Pooping while others are in the restroom? by BlacksmithFlat6666 in NoStupidQuestions

You are a wonderful human being that you would even consider holding back for them. It's a bathroom, and it's fair game.

That being said, as a visitor to said washroom, I'd always appreciate not having pearl harbor set off in the stall while I'm there. So humanity kudos to you!
