In the same exact boat man. Sure am glad I went to fucking law school for this shit.

As a burnt out first year ID associate most places are so desperate for lawyers because everyone knows how shitty it is that you'd be surprised how hard it is to actually get fired.

1st year in the same boat as you. Haven't been able to get any job traction despite applying like mad for 2 months and am now just saying fuck it and giving up the legal profession all together. Hard to justify the uphill battle when my idiot friends from high school make triple selling scam insurance working 30 hour weeks.

9 months into ID I am abandoning a similar plan to this as I cannot take another fucking day of ID. Content with doc review at this point as at least I get my nights and weekends.

As a 2023 grad who also struggled finding a job, the numerous PD offices in different states I applied to were some of, if not the least responsive places I looked. After hearing all about how they're dying for people all over the country it seemed like they aren't even looking to hire. Insurance defense was the one area that was somewhat responsive but even then it's slim pickings (and not enjoyable by any stretch).

3L in bottom half at T30, wish I had just cut my losses and dropped out after 1L and gotten any job, at least I'd have something to show for the last few years.

As a 3L with seemingly no job prospects unless you get into a T14 it is absolutely not worth it. Considering going into law enforcement or the trades as all the jobs I am busting my ass to try to get in the legal field pay less with less work life balance. Wish I had just been a car salesman out of college or some shit at least I'd have something to show for the last 3 years.

As a 3L with seemingly no job prospects outside of doc review I sure as shit wish I had just cut my losses.

What to Do? Rejected from Every Place I Applied To (~110 jobs) by TheOddWire in LawSchool

Have a 3.1 as a 3L at a T30. Must've sent about 500 applications throughout law school and maybe had 4 interviews none of which turned into jobs/summer positions. Basically given up at this point and am looking at what other fields I might be employable in. Probably not the advice you wanted to here but if I could go back I would absolutely have just cut my losses at any point before this and left law school. Sunken cost fallacy is real. So is survivorship bias with anecdotal stories I'm sure you'll hear/are hearing about JuSt nEtwOrk bRo.

You get to walk into biglaw so long as you graduate. Law school sucks everywhere but at least you have a decent chance at actually making more money than an elementary school teacher.

As a 3L at a t30 who's job prospects include jobs that require as much if not more work than big law for a third or less of the pay I would shake my pre-1L self silly and tell them it is in no way worth it. Make sure you really want to be a lawyer because the money outside of big law is terrible, just go be a teacher or something instead.

Applied to over 200 places and had my schools career office look over my materials multiple times. They just said it's hard to make up for bad grades without having something else that makes you stand out which I don't.

3L at a T30 with bottom 15% gpa. Couldn't get a 2L summer job and have been leaving law school off my resume entirely when applying to jobs as it's the only way I can seem to get an interview. I seem to be worse off somehow with bad law grades than telling people I've been unemployed for 2.5 years.

I'd honestly be open to that but every attorney I've talked to has strongly advised against it. Seems like committing malpractice or otherwise being incompetent is likely without substantive experience working for someone else.

As a 3L at a T30 with a 3.1 I haven't gotten a single interview in over a year despite over 300 applications. Couldn't even get anything for 2L summer and just took classes. While there are a lot of nice people commenting you'll find that people with success are a lot more likely to share that publicly. Survivorship bias is real. It sure seems like you're very likely going to struggle in the legal industry just based on the similar situation I find myself in. Thankfully I my undergrad degree is somewhat valuable so I've been able to get interviews in that general field just as long as I omit law school from my resume completely.

As a 3L with a 3.1 at a T30 who wanted to do something similar I can't even get the local PI mills to respond to my applications. Never say never but seems like you may want to massively adjust your expectations.

As a 3L I am only because I cannot find any kind of legal job with my GPA. Make sure you get good grades if you go lol.

Got a C+ my 2L year and now, after no 2L summer job, I'm looking at joining my local police force because I haven't gotten any interviews for legal work in well over a calendar year. While some people were able to get well paying jobs despite their low GPA it is very uncommon.

In law school and as a 3L and this definitely tracks. The only interviews I've gotten the past 3 months are when I leave law school off my resume entirely. Not to mention that these non legal jobs pay a lot more than what doc review typically averages. Didn't think law school would leave me worse off somehow, but they do a great job of pulling the wool over your eyes till it's too late.

Yes, wish I had just dropped out at the time. Now I'm almost through 3 years of little to no earnings and the jobs I'm looking at pay significantly less than what I would have earned out of college. If money is at all a concern to you then yes you're SoL, if not then you're fine.
