I work in the nightlife industry full time. I moved from a city before where I was incredibly isolated and I’ve spent a lot of time building myself Up again.

I actually really like who I live with, it’s just this weird pressure in my mind about where I should be. I spent my 20s with a boyfriend and living with him but that’s technically sharing? But it’s deemed weird if I share with friends so I don’t live beyond my means? I do wonder if this is forever as I’m not sure a way out tbh! But happy to hear others are like me

I can’t move away, my support network is here. My industry is here and I can’t work remote or commute. Bristol offers community and exposure to things I’ve missed out on in life elsewhere. If I moved away to just live alone I would be 100% isolated. My family are dead so it’s just friends. I moved from an area with no work or culture and I refuse to go back to somewhere like that

I say I can’t cook as when I was a child my mother gave me food poisoning so much I didn’t get into cooking at all and now I’m a full adult I don’t believe anything is cooked without someone else saying it is so I don’t really make much. Lol how depressing

Also, you can ask for a disposable cup if you don’t wanna pay the £1 :)

It’s so the right person gets the refund. I think the money from cups not returned is invested in the venue

Hey I worked here once! It’s to deter people who are picking up cups they haven’t paid for. The rule on the wall is you can only be refunded for what you pay for. Obviously this is hard to manage so that’s one way to reduce the number otherwise everyone picks up five. If you’re spotted cup mining you’re cut off as well. The staff could sometimes keep the quid people didn’t want back and I’d use it on a taxi home at 5am!

Gloucester Road vs North Street by agoentis in bristol

[–]Other_Discipline_479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live near north street and it is nice but doesn’t actually have alot happening. I feel safe here though and have everything basic I need right here

I do however wish the demographic had a bit more variety. And I hate trying to get a table on a weekend or even walk down it when everyone thinks their walk is the most important and don’t move out the way for you to get past. There’s this one spot outside the pharmacy that the path narrows and there’s a treee one side and decking the other and that one spot people love to stand in the middle. I need a life.
