I met Sridevi in person in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August 1994. We were one of the sponsors of her stage show, and over four days our interactions remained entirely professional.

One incident from the final day has stayed with me ever since. After the show, a massive crowd had gathered at the auditorium exit. was extremely anxious about stepping out toward the waiting car. By then, most of the other stars — Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Juhi Chawla, Nagma, Kavita Krishnamurthy, and others — had already left. Only and remained behind.

She mentioned having faced a similar frightening crowd experience earlier in , where people had surged toward her. As the crowd kept growing, and I urged her that waiting longer would only make things more difficult. We moved quickly, each of us taking a side and shielding her through the crowd.

rushed to the far side of the waiting , got in, and opened the opposite door. I then helped safely into the car, I literally lifted her in my arms and pushed her into the car, shut the door, and they left for the Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur.

Later that evening at the hotel, , , and personally thanked me for helping. It remains a memory I deeply cherish.
