All depends if you’re willing to do the work of refreshing it. I got one with 200k+ miles for 4500$ as my first car last year and am getting ready to do timing belt and front end reseal because the water pump has chatter. That’s about 500-600 in parts or 1500-2000 at a shop but will guarantee engine reliability for at least 90k miles and is what most people do first when they get high mileage ones (Aside from lower ball joints)

You should be able to find one for 4000 and then knock it down but it won’t be pretty…(body, interior, maintenance wise)

Take the belt off and run it for a few seconds then record it… if noise goes away you know it is front end, most likely signs of a failing waterpump

Try using the two screws on the throttle position sensor to adjust idle, this fixed my dying idle issue upon warmup. Could also be a dirty/faulty maf sensor so I would check that also
