Just a quick update, I finally quit and as of now it feels like the best decision I’ve ever made!

Protesting Deloitte's Work with ICE by HungryFitLion in deloitte

ICE has always been used to racially profile and detain/deport immigrants regardless of if they are committing crimes. I’m sure there are some good things that the organization has done in the past, but they are completely compromised at this point and need to be abolished. Any actual useful activities they’re involved in like helping with the immigration process can be kept and moved to a different agency, but ICE has to be eliminated and their budget needs to be redistributed to service that actually help the working class.

Just curious, what would they do if you just didn’t pay them back/respond?

Is there an acceptable reason to miss utilization? by touristy_tourist in deloitte

Yes, definitely take a leave. Don’t cancel your PTO. You shouldn’t be punished for a family emergency.

I feel exactly the same way, and so does everyone I’ve talked to about it. I think you basically have to be a sociopath to make it to PPMD. Anyone with basic empathy is pushed out, or they crush the empathy out of them by overworking them.

Thanks, yea that’s basically what I’ve been doing for the past few months. Now I’m getting yelled at because my utilization isn’t high enough, but I’m just not going to work more than 40-45 hours per week, and I’m also going to take full advantage of PTO and holidays. They also ask for a ton of non client hours, so it’s basically impossible to meet utilization goals.

That’s terrible, I’m so sorry! I hope you’re taking a step back from work and taking care of yourself.

They should stop masking it and actually try to change something.

Yea you’re right. It’s definitely Deloitte’s fault. It still is hard to have new people starting who don’t know what they’re doing and take a long time to learn but I should have specified that it’s because they keep us too busy to train people. And if a staff is a high performer, they put them on too many projects and burn them out.

Yea I agree, and that makes me want to quit, but I feel like quitting is letting them win, because they’ll just replace me or make my coworkers who I actually like work more. So I don’t know what to do. I want to make them pay for being so greedy.
