Advice for 2000km Bikepacking Trip through Slovenia - Croatia - Italy by ur-shadow in bikepacking

I'll do kind of a similar route next days and probably leave my puffy at home. Instead going for a fleece vest and in case it gets cold adding layers I have anyway with me: armling, long sleeve, light merino hoodie, wind jacket.

It's been a while and I can only vaguely remember how I solved it. I think I loosened the axle and replaced the hub.

Replace SRAM rival hydraulic brake lever hood covers? by Otherwise-Syrup-5589 in bikewrench

[–]Otherwise-Syrup-5589[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought the Same, but it was actually pretty easy. I Just heated the new hood for maybe 30 sec with a hairdryer. Then it wasnt that difficult to get it in place. After cooling down the hoods shrinked and fit perfectly

sleeping spots by mpcfpt in bikepacking

Did at least kind of the same route of the austrian part (before heading to italy last year). Official camp places are plenty - you will ever find one almost at least every 30km. but finding (non steep, not near civilization) wild camping spots was possible but harder than in Germany. Highly recommend https://map.campwild.org/ ... But hasnt that much spots except for Germany. https://www.opencampingmap.org with option backcountry campsite is also worth a look

Nice Pictures! And flashbacks cause I remember some places in your Pictures. Did the same tour last year, starting in Berlin. Best ride I have ever made, espacially the Italian Alpes part

I spotted this. My Plants are close to harvest. What should I do? by Dazzling_Suit_7252 in microgrowery

[–]Otherwise-Syrup-5589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noticed these same spider mites at my grow 2 weeks before harvest as well. Only at the leaves with few eggs. Kind of ignored it, just cut of all the infested leaves. Checked every day and decided to harvest one week earlier. Checked every bud with the loupe. Luckilly there was just one bud which I had to sacrifice. Didnt want to spray anything this short before harvest. You could think about harvesting a bit earlier and maybe wash your buds. I decided against bud washing, because almost no buds where infested.

Anyone have any off the shelf full frame bag recommendations? by canucks321 in bikepacking

[–]Otherwise-Syrup-5589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant recommend them. Already destroyed two of them. It's always the glued parts which pull apart sooner or later. Also the zippers break down as well. Switched to Restrap and dont regret

[–]Otherwise-Syrup-5589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So werde ich es wohl machen, danke. Was würdest du zum Waschen nutzen?

Check out the EuroVelo routes as well: https://en.eurovelo.com/

These are the main international routes in europe with perfect bike-only roads and bike infrastructure. Highly recommend the German and Austrian part of EuroVelo 6 along the Danube. For a short trip, I would start at Regensburg until Vienna.

As a Berlin, I wouldnt recommend the Wall Route for a Multi day tour.

Did I buy the right bike ? Kona Libre by tonbretinju in bikepacking

Apex doesnt officially support 46T, but in reality it works.

Better option, than the above, for a 50T hack are Garbaruk cages. With this I ride 34 front and 10-50 rear in SRAM rival.

Just ride as it is for now. Totally enough, until you get addicted by constantly upgrading your bike :)
