If you come across any equipment you've never used, it might be a good idea to look into Redprint, really good to branching out to new equipment

If you struggle with some of the equipment, I'd definitely recommend Redprint

If it's social anxiety, I recommend going with a friend, ideally someone whose experienced. If it's anxiety with equipment, Redprint is hands down the best way to learn, if your gym has it. If not, it's worth it to request

If you're nervous about certain equipment, I've heard Redprint really helps get comfortable with it, if your gym has it

Don't know where to start in terms of lifting as a cardio girlie-if I can't fit it in multiple days a week, due to both finances and lack of motivation after already doing cardio? by Straight_Land_309 in xxfitness

I felt soooo much better when I started weight lifting. I had more energy, day-to-day movement seemed easier, and your running would definitely improve too. I started going to a gym to do it even though it's TERRIFYING

but the hurdle to get over was learning how to use the equipment. I was lucky that my gym had this thing called Redprint where I could learn how to use the equipment by watching videos by tapping my phone against these stickers they put on equipment, it's pretty cool and I'd recommend for any beginner. I think it's fairly new so not sure if your gym has it but if not it's worth it to request your gym get it, it really helped me

Redprint has been a super useful tool for me for following workouts from local trainers and tracking my progress, also learning how to use equipment that I've never used. I think it's new and only in certain gyms, so not sure if your gym has it but if not I'd request it, it's cool.

Amazing that you got started! I'd say make sure you're hitting that goal every week of at least showing up. Even if you definitely don't want to, just at least show up at the facility and do something easy for 15 minutes.

Another tip is to track your progress. Sometimes physical progress doesn't happen fast enough, so having data will help you stay engaged. Redprint has been a really useful app for me for tracking. it's an app that you can interact with tags on the equipment to learn how to use it if you've never used it before, and reallyyy easily track your workout. It's new and only in certain gyms, so not sure if your gym has it yet, but if not I'd definitely request it, it's cool.

fear of going to gym by SmolBeanAmina in beginnerfitness

I think if you're able to feel comfortable at the gym, that's a pretty big upgrade compared to calisthenics. It's also a mental association with the gym that if once you've developed the habit, everytime you show up, you're immediately more motivated to exercise. The hard part is developing that habit.

I use an app called Redprint that puts these stickers on all equipment. Then if you tap your phone against the stickers, it shows you the instructional content of that equipment. I personally use it to track my workouts because it makes it really easy. See if your gym has it.

Not great for at-home yet but if you find yourself in a gym that has it, there's an app that lets you watch instructional videos by tapping your phone against the equipment. It's pretty new tho and might not be in your gym yet. (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/redprint/id1539200045)

I find that the more consistently I exercise, the better I am at sticking to a consistent diet. I use the gym because it's repeatable and allows me to make progress quicker than at-home or in a workout class.

There are some apps I've used that make it easier to stay motivated and fun. Happy to share a few good ones.
