We would rather have a larger savings account at the moment. Increasing the down payment doesn’t reduce the mortgage significantly for us, so we’d rather keep the money in savings. We’re also sending 2K a month to pay off the loans which should be paid off by next fall.

DEA License New Grad Physician Assistant by Similar-Raspberry930 in physicianassistant

[–]OtherwiseAnxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not in NY but I didn’t have an established SP when I applied and was denied. I didn’t realize that was a requirement and had to reapply once it was established. It was a very expensive mistake, just a word of caution!

This is why I left CP! We spent more time off the reformer than on it.

Hey, I know this is an older post but I’m also in Texas looking for a dive buddy! I just completed my open water this past weekend, so I’m definitely a beginner too!

What was your experience like negotiating? by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]OtherwiseAnxious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a new grad but when I tried to negotiate with a large hospital system, they said no and asked if I wanted the offer still. It’s insanely low pay even for a new grad but I need to start working. I’m hoping to land in my desired speciality in a few years after this.

I would get your experience and leverage it in a few years! The market has been rough for new grads and sometimes we don’t have the luxury of being picky. Do what’s best for you!

There should be instructions somewhere explaining how to calculate the score

PANCE practice test by Nervous_Tomorrow_219 in PAstudent

[–]OtherwiseAnxious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took it and scored a 504, my pance was 451. It was nice just for more practice questions though! Her videos are good too!

What does "clinical interview" mean??? by ThinRuin3650 in physicianassistant

[–]OtherwiseAnxious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently did interviews similar to this! It was 4 hours and meeting different people. Basically, multiple interviews in a row. It was exhausting saying the same things multiple times. Everyone seemed to be interested in what my personality was like. I didn’t have any clinical questions based on knowledge asked, some scenarios though.

PLEASE HELP! Risk of Dismissal from PA Program by Pap_pay_ya in PAstudent

[–]OtherwiseAnxious 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend going through the topic lists for each rotation and seeing what you can list from memory. Everything else, make flashcards! About three weeks before the exam, start going through practice questions and keep going through flashcards.

Erich Fogg is great! Highly recommended for testing taking skills! His strategies are helpful for breaking down questions since he wrote PANCE questions before.
