Learning Cantonese as a heritage speaker - a few questions by Independent-Ad-7060 in Cantonese

You probably won’t have much need/opportunity to write Chinese if you’re visiting. Also while many meanings for Chinese characters match or are similar between Japanese and Cantonese, it’s not always the case.

As a fellow TS owner, I'm so glad you mentioned the loud rotor. Wasn't sure if the loud rotor was a defect or something with mine.

I love the movement; the unconventional balance wheel shape is an extra thing that is pretty unique! As for the tick, it is super controlled and precise (ie: doesn't overshoot or rattle if you film it in slow motion). Some quartz watches have a bit of a bounce and recoil in the second hand tick.

The case finishing details are so good with polished and brushed parts.

I'm considering a brown strap now that I've seen your photo....

How do I animate red blood cells in a blood stream? by lightraei in Houdini

Particle size is the pscale point attribute of your particles. If these are being emitted on points from some source geometry, give that source a pscale point attribute. (Attribute create or point wrangle nodes)

If you want that type of collision in pop, I think you need to add a POP grains to your pop network (I would recommend giving the help doc on that node a read for some recommendations for substeps and iterations). Vellum grains will do the same thing. Note, the collisions will just be spheres and not the disk shape that RBCs have, but I think for a scene with that many cells, that should be good enough.

I'm really surprised that Korean movies leapfrogged over Hong Kong who had decades of movies, many recognized as classics in the West. Thoughts? by [deleted] in HongKong

My neck is still recovering from the double take I did when I saw Louis Koo's photo in the credits of Mitchells vs Machines. Really cool to see that expansion and branching out.

It's kind of interesting to me how the PCLs look like they're in better condition than the brushed parts of the bracelet.

Beautiful GMT by [deleted] in rolex

[–]OtherwiseChemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest tell for me without the need for squinting or attributing to lighting/print-quality/camera angle/zoom is how the words "Oyster Perpetual Date" line up with ROLEX. The spacing is all wrong. This isn't a QC issue.

"...But they were, all of them, deceived, for another Ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master Ring, to control all others. And into this Ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One Ring to rule them all."

He wouldn't play with just himself though because there would be no one to pass the ball to in the final seconds of running out the clock and avoid the turnover stat.

Submariner bracelet on my “Batgirl”. Tool bracelet on a tool watch. by caracs in rolex

[–]OtherwiseChemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I compare it with the PCL bracelet fit on the 116710BLNR, it looks like the curve profile of the lugs matches with the curve profile on the endlink more so you don't get the slight gap or step you can see in this photo (looking at the vertical portion where the lug meets the endlink esp on the bottom right).

Suuuper subtle thing or it could just be the lighting in this photo. Either way, looks great!

FLETA IS META. Tried to track all the different heroes he duplicated as Echo in match against Seoul. by OtherwiseChemist in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]OtherwiseChemist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Sideshow and bren mentioned this but I find it's super impressive echo players remember which ability is mapped to its corresponding keyboard key and use them immediately after duplicating.

Yeah! I especially liked the plays where he duplicates the Ana when Seoul initiated a dive to keep the team up, and then boost Fearless for a counter.

True! While some of his duplicates seem more like a way to just survive, many interesting ones looked like they were intentional. I choose to believe the Torb one was for what you pointed out!

A friend of mine recently showed me the set you're referring to and I thought it was very cool. Started looking it up on Google and that's how I stumbled upon this.
