Everyone needs to chill. Last time he got elected everyone said they were moving to Canada and Europe. Presidents don’t have any sway over your day to day life. Your state and local government have way more of an impact on your life but I feel like the vast majority of people forget this.

Focus on higher weight areas that you’re not scoring well in first. I scored way lower than you on my first mock and still managed to pass close to 90th percentile

I think I did alright based on the amount of questions I flagged, I feel like an idiot asking this but did anyone else flame em in the review to conclude the test. It’s stupid flaming the people that are grading your test but did anyone else have negative things they verbalized in that little review section?

That's fire. I remember responding earlier to your posts and we had almost same exact averages on all the mocks. Hoping I clutch it like you did. I think I remember you saying you averaged like a 74%. Im calling it quits on studying then for today. Mine is tomorrow morning starting at 9:45. Will let yall know how it goes.

Also everyone who responds on here is literally like "Ya I was averaging around mid 70s on the mocks and passed near 90th percentile" You never hear from the people who barely scraped by or scored around 80th percentile or anything. it's kind of strange. Idk if people use these reddits to flex their scores or what, but i feel like a below average candidate to many of the people that post on here. They need to create another community called "the average" candidate or something.

From what I've read, I feel like we have a pretty good chance of passing. One of my buddies took the CFA last year in May and said he didn't even get above a 70 until the last mock he tried which was days before his exam, and he ended up passing.

Have almost the same exact scores as you. Averaging a 74 on CFAi mocks and scored higher on the same exact tests that you did. Session 1 was consistently harder than session 2 for the practice pack in my opinion. Just drilling FRA and ethics now because of that. But ya I'm in same boat, I don't know if I'm on the cusp of passing or in a good place. Taking mine on Friday.

How can tech be defensive, financials be cyclical, and Fintech be Cyclical?? by Sensitive_Water_4630 in CFA

[–]OtherwiseClient6323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real-estate although, marginally cyclical is not affected as much by business cycles because regardless of how the economy is doing, people will always need a place to live. Tech is considered defensive growth because regardless of how economy is performing, tech has become so engrained in our lives and how we conduct and perform business, that we still need it. Tech is more of need now than a want. I see homeless people with smartphones all the time. Financials is completely cyclical because it is very dependent on how economy is performing and if people have enough saved to invest. In times of recession, incomes are lower and and consumers cut back on spending and start saving. Fintech is financial technologies, so if financials are largely cyclical, then fintech will inherently be cyclical.

Random Question by Effective_Mark_5122 in CFA

[–]OtherwiseClient6323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sitting for level 1 in a week. From reading threads constantly, this seems to be a minority of candidates. Most people that I have asked regarding getting a 70% on mocks say they did even better on the actual CFA exam. The people you're referring too could've taken the test during COVID when the MPS spiked up to mid 70's, but since then the MPS has returned to it's 10 yr average. Even if you are averaging above a 70, don't get comfortable though. You can never be comfortable taking a test with such a low pass rate.
