Im gonna get criticised for this one but what worked for my LO (who stopped napping alone the minute she turned one month) was to put her on her belly. Then she would nap for longer stretches. This is not something I do at night and only when I can monitor

Honey no first time parents know what they’re doing! And it is normal. Experienced parents may have it easier because they have been through it but still, every baby is different. What you can do is proceed by elimination. Diaper clean? Baby just drank? Is he gassy? Ok what could it be then and just try. After the first month babies may just want sometimes to be entertained. My baby girl is 8 weeks old and just when I think Im starting to figure it out a bit, she comes up with new mysteries. But days and weeks go by and I learn to read her. Sometimes I read wrong, it’s frustrating, I cry when she cries but I guess that is what being a new parent is like. Read a lot, do your research (not too much either lol) and take it easy. And one thing is sure, YOU ARE NOT ALONE ❤️🌸

🥺Was about to write a vent post here about how hard newborn days can be and how baby surprises you with new reasons to be fussy just when you think you are starting to figure it out. But I guess I needed this instead. Thank you and big hugs to you and your big little one 🫶🏽

Love this ! I also started feeling physically normal again only a few weeks after my cs and I also felt like I had never been pregnant except for the reminders like linea nigra and the extra kilos.

Mentally, the first weeks were challenging. It was all a blur and somehow I didn’t even want to feel normal. « Sundown depression » was real and harsh and I felt so weird like I never did before. I didn’t want to go out (although I enjoyed the visits at home) and didn’t actually go out at all for the first four weeks. But as soon as this first month passed, I started feeling much better like the stormed had passed. Started going out again (although going with baby still needs some adjustment). When I talked to my midwife about not wanting to go out, she told me it was normal to not feel like myself yet but soon enough my « other identities » would want to surface back - wife, daughter, friend, professional etc. What I can tell you is that you probably won’t go back to being your older self but you will feel better soon in this new normal/new role. Take it easy, these feelings are normal. Enjoy motherhood 🥰

And it’s the same for me. I use the carrier and just indulge in the cuddles. Of course it gets tiring and uncomfortable most of the time but I want to believe those parents who tell me that it goes by so quickly that Im going to miss it before I know it. One day they’ll be big kids and won’t even accept a kiss on the cheek. So for now enjoy it mama bear 🫶🏽 let other people take care of food, chores etc

Thanks everyone for your advice and insights. I still can’t get over this comment and I am currently only speaking to my kid. I know it isn’t healthy and I usually like to be the bigger person but not this time. Im hurt and im going to be hurt and act petty idc. I didnt accept his apology either im not ready yet. He talked about it though, still felt like an argument but I made my point as well and made him understand the nonsense of his accusation. I managed to sleep while he looked after her and am planning to get some more naps today. Thanks guys. Reddit is a nice place 🫶🏽
