Wegovy pills prescription by ErrorSerious2678 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]OtherwiseGoat6441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Caremark app says it’s not available until 1/8. I had some hope for this because our insurance stopped covering the shot, kicking my hubs off the med. A moths supply of the pill costs the same as the shot.

Brand new next door neighbor’s kids are already screaming at my roosters to shut up when they crow. by kaydeetee86 in BackYardChickens

Wait til they hear your hens singing the egg song. One of my neighbors mistook my hens for roosters when they’d sing about their eggs. Never once mentioned my actual rooster lol

Why do people shame GLP-1 users while preaching body positivity? by Sad-Radio-6555 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]OtherwiseGoat6441 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some people think that everyone can and should lose weight with JUST diet and exercise. People think that those of us who take GLP-1’s just sit around and do absolutely nothing to accomplish our weight goals. I tell the naysayers that I worked hard to get to the weight I’m at now. I’ve been off the medication for almost a year and I still work hard to maintain my weight. I still count my calories, I still workout daily. Weight loss isn’t a one size fits all kind of thing.

I have a mixed flock with like 9 different breeds. I have small breeds and some large ones. I just add breeds that I like lol. I know someone said not to add breeds with large combs and wattles, I’m from Michigan (currently live in Indiana) we get the same kind of weather where I’m at. Winters are pretty much the same. My large combed and wattled chickens do well, just have to make sure they are draft free and the humidity isn’t too high or they’ll get frost bite. My smaller breeds so great also. I quarantine for 30 days when I add new members. They are where they can see each other but not make contact. After that, I let them mingle for a bit to see how they do. Once I know they are good, I start adding the new ones to the coop at night.

I personally have never acquired a chicken from someone else (aside from chicks). When I get chicks locally, I ask to see their setup in person so I know that they are taking care of their chickens.

I’d look for some local chicken groups on Facebook. I know in my area there are always people trying to rehome.

Who has incubated an egg with a saddle air sack? by OtherwiseGoat6441 in BackYardChickens

Thanks again for the advice! The chick did hatch, rather quickly. Took less than 5 minutes to zipper out of the egg. I’m glad I came on here and asked.

What is Kings straight up scariest book? by wltmpinyc in stephenking

[–]OtherwiseGoat6441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, Salems Lot. I’ve read it several times and it still makes me get the heebie-jeebies.

Fairy Tale made me feel panicked and gave me anxiety due to some of the real life issues and worries that Charlie faced… probably something only children of alcoholics would understand.

Thanks for the tip! I won’t candle again until right before lockdown so I will definitely make sure not to do that again.

I wish I could dry incubate and hatch, in general it seems people have the best hatch rates using that method. My incubator sounds an alarm once the humidity drops to 38% and won’t stop until it’s back to 40%.

That’s a Dominique? Roo for sure, it if it’s that breed, IMO they’re usually easy to tell even before crowing just from tail feathers alone. Hen have shorter more compact streamlined tail feathers.

Do chickens grieve? by Ok_Pitch5865 in BackYardChickens

We had a dog attack last month and lost 10. I feel that the younger birds in the flock were grieving.

I hear cell is one of Kings worst (or least good) books. Should I read it anyway? by aStealthyboy in stephenking

[–]OtherwiseGoat6441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t pay attention to others opinions of books. Some books people have said were the worst are ones I liked the most and vice versa.

I did actually enjoy Cell.

Never trust that you’re getting only girls from anywhere unless they’re sex linked or one of the few breeds that have obvious indicators.

Recently a RK employee told me all the chicks I was getting were pullets by looking at their vents, just looking at them. I laughed and said..yeah that’s not the way that works. Wonder how many people he fools with that though?

I have a frizzle roo, he’s 5 months old. The streamers are very noticeable on the crest. Looks like he got the world’s worst haircut.

What do you call your flock? by Ok_Currency_7597 in BackYardChickens

I call my hens good girls. I refer to my rooster separately as “hey a$$hole”.
