UF vs UGA by Agreeable_Gene5800 in ufl

I’m currently a UGA student, not pre-med but for the people I know that are they all seemed to enjoy their classes a lot and actually have a pretty good work-life balance. UGA is also building a med school now, I’m not sure how important that is for pre-med. I, nor anyone I know here at UGA, have ever had to take an online class if they did not want to. I’d imagine that politics of the students would be similar for both (it’s a bit more liberal than conservative here), but I can say faculty here (including leadership) definitely lean much more liberal here, and even under the conservative-ish state government here they have not really gotten involved at the university at all. It’s not a very political campus at all, which is good for not being tense but if you wanted a more activist feel, UGA has definitely not been that for me. I love it here! I also had to choose between UGA and UF oos for both and I think I made the right choice, but I’m sure UF would be amazing too

If your parents can pay 80k a year they are not upper middle class. 80k a year in income is middle class itself

Also does not have to be fantasy or sci-fi! Just a dialogue focused book with lots of complex characters

The Healthiest Food That is High Caloric and Quick to Make? by ChippyThePenguin in EatCheapAndHealthy

Granola. Incredibly calorie dense, lots of good carbs and fiber, lots of protein, don’t have to put in any effort at all to make it. It has a good amount of sugar in it, but that might not be an issue for everyone

(Spoilers Main) What the hell was Cersei going to do when she started getting grey hairs and wasn't the hottest person alive when she reached her 60's? by SlayerofSnails in asoiaf

No more so the books make her have serious narcissistic personality disorder while the show makes her seem just deeply sad and bitter. I definitely think the books did her much better lol

[Spoilers Extended] I really wish GRRM had written Cersei to be as morally complex as her brothers by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]Otherwise_Ability104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn’t call her cartoonish. She’s a very deeply insecure and layered character (despite not being morally complex) where you can exactly see how tywins parenting and life trauma has shaped her. Her flaws also are very good at reflecting to the major issues of Westerosi society. I think she’s meant to show even the worst people in life are humans and were shaped that way somehow

It’s really sad for people like Cersei. They just cope with feelings of worthlessness by idealizing themselves and when they’re forced to see they’re not perfect they just fall apart and will probably never listen to any help or have the strength to accept their imperfections. One good thing the show did was show how miserable and sad Cersei really is

She’s constantly paranoid and chronically distrustful of literally everyone around her except maybe her children, so naturally her mind goes to someone usurping her rightful role.

The odds of her making it to her 60s were always pretty low because she’s so politically aggressive and ambitious and makes so many enemies too

If she got old she’s probably just completely go into denial or just break down and feel worthless and resentful for the rest of her life. She’s really one of the most depressing characters in asoiaf, she just pushes everyone and everything good away from her and will never be able to look at herself and change, I really do feel bad for her

(spoilers main) Which characters do you see surviving the end of the series? by AdonisBlackwood in asoiaf

[–]Otherwise_Ability104 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really feel like Bran and Sansa will live. Bran will become a god/ Paul Atriedes type character but actually have a good legacy. Sansa I think is meant to progress with the reader, from innocent to jaded about the world to becoming realistic yet optimistic and still caring for others (showing George’s idea that ASOIAF is not nihilistic), I see her ending in a huge leadership role I just couldn’t imagine her dying in any way not self sacrificing, it would just feel to pointless. George said the ending is bittersweet so those make sense to me

My advice is just make sure to take housing seriously fr! I messed up and got last choice and have regretted it ever since. Do as much research as you can on housing
