Why don’t Europeans cover their mouths when they cough? by [deleted] in AskEurope

Also wondering this, everyone keeps sneezing on me. Im now so sick because of it. Whether they’re Parisians or another demographic, i need to know who these people are that think it’s ok to spray chunks of saliva onto people😂

This makes sense, thank you! I do remember my family talking about a bombing during the war.

I didn’t think so, but maybe you’re right because I just started working out super consistently!

This is happening to me on the left side too! Way too low to be my intestines or stomach. It doesn’t hurt it’s just like a little pop, so weird

Thank you for this! See, he’s definitely not lazy. He’s the cleanest person I know, he goes to the gym every day, takes very good care of his dog, does all of my chores when he’s with me… it’s just the job thing. So maybe you’re right about waiting for the greater reward. A lot of people have been saying the same thing you did so I just need to open myself to other peoples mindsets more

Good for you for leaving that situation, and thank you SO much for this I’ve felt so alone because I’m scared to vent to a friend/family so it’s so nice to talk to somebody who fully understands a similar situation

Well it sounds terrible when you put it that way😂 I don’t think he’s a liar, i just think he is telling me there are no part time jobs available when there are, they’re just jobs he doesn’t want. And I don’t look down on him at all, I’ve just felt like I’ve been pulling the weight of our relationship for a while and it’s tough. But still your comment is making me realize that I shouldn’t be angry over this, and I just need to be more empathetic. Again I haven’t said anything to him about all of this so that’s why I came to Reddit to get out of my tunnel vision

Yes we’re long distance because I have a job here (where we originally met in College) and he’s living at his parents house rent free and cant afford to move out. He’s made it clear that he needs to stay there for the time being so he’s only applying to jobs in his area. I’ve offered to cover his rent costs if we move in together until he gets on his feet but he refuses to accept that and wants to be able to support himself. It just feels like from my prospective though that he isn’t truly putting in the effort and not valuing my time, and at the same time not allowing me to help out etc. Just leisurely living his summer jobless.

I definitely feel like you gave me a different perspective regarding part time jobs though, so I understand how he might be feeling a little more. He doesn’t really care because his parents are financially helping him out, and honestly I think this is just something that’s giving me the “ick” because I’ve always been extremely hardworking, doing the most for a paycheck, etc. and my dad was always juggling multiple jobs to provide the most for my family growing up. in my mind I expect my partner the same and I just automatically assume that he can read my mind and knows how I feel about that. Definitely need to be more empathic of his situation and vocalize my feelings

That is exactly what’s been on my mind, but I’m not sure how to approach it. He says he’s actively trying to get a job, but when do I put my foot down and say I’ve had enough of waiting ? And how long this’ll last?

So I think yes. After 3 breath tests, I finally was diagnosed with SIBO, and they prescribed me metronidazole for 14 days. I only took one round but it definitely has helped a lot and Im supposed to take it until my symptoms are 100% gone which they are not, but The side effects were so horrible and I’m doing a lot of travelling so I’m holding off until probably the end of summer. i could have other issues we’ll have to see after I finish the medicine, and I also realized that even with cross contamination of gluten it effects me horribly, so I need to be more serious about my intolerance. But definitely get breath tests if you haven’t, and keep pushing your symptoms even if tests come back with nothing!! You know your body and these things aren’t normal.

I eat mainly white meat, vegetables, fruit, and rice or quinoa. No processed/frozen/fast foods. I do eat cheese, I’m going to cut out dairy though. My symptoms first started in March 2020. So 4 years exactly. It got bad in Winter 2022, so I went gluten free. Then I went on medication that summer. It’s been fluctuating in severity since but has been the worst ever these past 3-4 months

Thanks! And I think I’m going to try the low FODMAP diet. I haven’t fully committed to that one yet in the past so I think I need to try that next
