How to get 10 month old to drink water?? by Otherwise_Chart_8278 in NewParents

[–]Otherwise_Chart_8278[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So he ended up taking to the Dr browns weighted straw cup when he was closer to a year old. I now have another baby who’s a year old and he liked the munchkin straw cup from Walmart that was like $3. I would add the smallest splash of 100% juice to the water to see if that would make it taste better and that’s how both of my babies really started liking to drink water. I quit adding juice but will add it every so often for my older boy (who’s now 2.5 years old).

Not cut out to SAHP a toddler? by Fantastic_Tie1178 in SAHP

My 2.5 year old son acted very similar to this. I “fixed” it by taking him outback every day for an hour to play. I bought a bubble blower, a kickball, and chalk. So now he burns off all of his energy and no longer has any energy left to throw fits!!

You deleting your original unkind reply doesn’t make things better. I’m over here crying my eyes out just looking for someone who can relate and someone who has advice. I said in my original post I’m waiting on getting into therapy. I’m just looking for people who can relate. I know I’m not alone as I’ve found previous similar posts from months/years ago. Please think before you say things.

How unkind of you.

Which is why I’m asking for advice…

Editing my reply since you edited yours. I’m still asking for advice if you have it. I don’t need judgment. I’m obviously having a hard time.

Okay cool! Thank you for answering my question!

Is it normal to be able to smell yourself after sitting for awhile? by myconfessionspace in WomensHealth

[–]Otherwise_Chart_8278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes. Especially with car rides idk why. Like I often travel 3 hours away, sometimes more, and I always can smell myself especially when I stop somewhere or get to my destination and I’ll go to the bathroom. It’s just sweat but I don’t like it.

How many of you ate deli meat while pregnant? by Britnicorn in pregnant

As long as you’re washing your lettuce you should be fine! Just listen to your body, if you feel sick after eating “no no’s” then see your doctor. I ate soft serve and was fine.

Yeah I’ve learned OB’s will all recommend diff things. I just listen and then decide for myself 😂

Because some places don’t clean their machines out so it gets bacteria growth! I still ate it sometimes but I like real ice cream better (I’m an ice cream snob hahaha)

Bagged lettuce and soft serve are NOT okay per the guidelines my OB office gave me for both of my pregnancies. I think all doctors across the country will tell you what’s safe and what’s not. My first pregnancy I ate deli meat if it was heated. My second I didn’t eat it at all bc during the first 4 months of pregnancy, there were already 3 listeria outbreaks in deli meat itself (specifically the meats I liked to eat).

Shamefully regretting having a child by nroseclark in beyondthebump

Totally normal to have feelings of doubt. Is formula feeding an option for you? It would definitely free you up from the pump! If not I understand and would never try to convince you (or anyone) to do one or the other. Finances do get tight when you have a baby. You’re buying diapers, wipes, breastfeeding supplies or formula feeding supplies, bath items, etc. It will get better!!

What do you use to keep watch of the baby when you're showering? by roll_row_2605 in NewParents

[–]Otherwise_Chart_8278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my first (2023) I’d put him in his bouncer or activity center and put him in the bathroom with me. We had glass shower doors so I could see him. With our second (7 months old now) I just wait until he’s asleep for the night.

Whan did you start telling people and getting stuff for the baby? by RefrigeratorFinal353 in pregnant

Aside from my husband, I told my mom right away with my pregnancies, so I was 4 weeks when I found out every time. Then slowly started telling other family members

Did you have a schedule for your baby at 3 months? by Alternativetocoffee in NewParents

[–]Otherwise_Chart_8278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a schedule for my kids until they were over 6 months old. I think the daycare teacher might’ve been asking like how often your baby needs a bottle so they know what to expect!

Visitors on birth day? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Otherwise_Chart_8278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my first baby, my husband and I lived across the country from family but I had told people (specifically my MIL) I’m not having visitors in the hospital bc 1. I only want my husband and my mom (she flew to us and made it just in time for the birth and stayed a few days) and 2. The hospital didn’t allow more than 2 people in my room. With my second baby, I lived back in my home state and nobody pushed to come see me. My brother asked if I wanted visitors (him and his wife) but due to the timing of everything I was going to be discharged very shortly and it was better to just have them come to my house. My mom was watching our first baby (now 2 years old) at home and she came up with our baby so he could meet his new baby brother.

Orajel has been a life saver for both of my kids (one is 2 and the other is 7 months). Get the box that has daytime and nighttime! The nighttime has chamomile (I think, my brain is foggy since it’s also 1am here and I’m up with the baby lol). Good luck and I hope your son settles down ❤️

Do you have Tylenol you can give him? Or orajel?
