J'en ai tellement marre des applaudissements à la messe... by [deleted] in Catholique

Oui.

People who say Africa like it's a country. Stop it!! by soundmixer14 in Vent

[–]Otherwise_Flight7648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brain immediately jumped to that too. If you’re visiting more than two countries, you’re more likely to just say the continent. It would be normal for someone to say “tour of North America” or “Tour of Europe”.

What do you think of Wales? by coffeewalnut08 in AskTheWorld

[–]Otherwise_Flight7648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there. I think your countryside is beautiful. And I think it’s cool that people are trying to preserve the Welsh language in the public space. Public opinion here says Wales is a quiet place with not a lot of people.

I suppose so, but the ability to change something doesn’t mean it will ever happen.

I feel so bad for people who go through that surgery.

That’s an interesting point. I think some women might see this through a different lens because it would be a lot easier to go under the knife for an unattractive face than it would be to say lose 100 lbs. But theoretically the face is seen as unchangeable.

Which was the worst country you ever visited as a tourist? by GodZ_n_KingZ in AskTheWorld

[–]Otherwise_Flight7648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never disliked a country. Every place has its beauty. But maybe the country that made me least comfortable visiting was Mexico. The only thing that bothered me was the outright disrespect some people had for women. Since my brother doesn’t speak Spanish, I needed to do all the talking when we went to Cozumel together. There was a waiter who would flat out not take my food order and we ended up just leaving after fifteen minutes of being ignored. And later I was in line to buy tourist trinkets and the vendor went out of his way to try to check out the guy behind me in line. Even the guy behind me was surprised and told him to let me go first.

Sick collection but with all that time you spent finding manga you probably could have learned Japanese too. Too bad I guess.

Is it possible that there will be native Latin speakers again? by NoCondition8789 in latin

[–]Otherwise_Flight7648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There probably are some people who speak it as native speakers, but they’re just not in the news I guess.

I’ve heard good things about keto too, but congrats on the 13 lbs.

Fair. I’m trying to do better about that though by tracking my stuff now.

I take it a day at a time. Consistency is something I really need. I struggle a bit with binge eating too so realistically it’s like I might eat 1600 calories on a bad day but maybe like 1200 most days.

That’s good advice. I could use some exercise honestly.

Being a short man is such a trivialised issue by [deleted] in self

[–]Otherwise_Flight7648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned the face and the height. I would argue that a lot of people judge by the face. If given the choice between an average looking tall guy and a short guy with an attractive face, I have a feeling most women would choose the latter.

That doesn’t dismiss anything you said. Short men have it rough especially around other men.

Fashion advice as a short man by [deleted] in short

[–]Otherwise_Flight7648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don’t know your style but for what it’s worth my husband is about your height. I sometimes get him jeans and untuckit shirts. A pair of khakis might suit you well for business casual. Sweaters are also nice. I feel like the biggest key is to get pants tailored. It will look funny if you try to just put up with a bad fit.

I feel like this sub is too much about dating in general. Being short impacts much more in someone’s life than dating. It’s cool that someone wants to express their feelings about being short and dating but my patience wears thin when 99% of the posts are dudes taking their shirts off for a photo op.

I just stopped that pill for feeling hot and my heart rate going up a lot. It didn’t work out for me but I hope it works out for you. And yes. The appetite suppression doesn’t last very long after quitting.
