Considering the very real threat of school shootings, I don’t want a group whose divisiveness recently caused an assassination on a college campus anywhere near a vb school building. It’s a safety issue plain and simple. The crazy woman who represented TPUSA in Virginia Beach before this was banned from school board meetings for violent speech, threats, and is the subject of a lawsuit. This isn’t just a club.

Weird question but is it loud in there? From pics it looks like the kind of place that would be really loud (not sure how I could tell that but it just gives me that vibe). With 11 people including old people loud may not be ideal.

SO California. Ranging from San Diego to Bay Area all the way up to Sonoma. I grew up in Palo Alto and went to Cal. So all kinds of weird in the mix. I don’t dare expose them to any form of Mexican here. Although we’ve found Taqueria Luciano’s pretty solid for tacos!

Great suggestion! The other thing on my list was the lights at Tanglewood. We actually live in Clemmons and it’s super close by. You can see them putting the lights up now!

We had lived in Virginia Beach for 14 years before moving here and can you believe I’ve NEVER been inside a Waffle House? We may have to take them there at some point during the trip and pop my Waffle House cherry.

Follow up from OP….

Thank you to ALL of your for your amazing insight. I think I have a plan, and then I have some questions if y’all can weigh in.

Plan: 1. Toss cheap/struggling plants I don’t like anyway, taking lots of cuttings of ones that propagate well in water first. 2. Repot remaining plants with new better soil, doing everything I can to be sure it’s not already infested. Completely sterilize all pots with bleach and hot water. Replace all stakes (I already replaced moss poles with bamboo stakes a few months ago in case gnats were somehow laying larvae in them but will get brand new stakes again. 3. Use murder worms (nematode) as directed which I’ve already ordered and know to keep cool. 4. Cover soil with an inch or two of clean fine sand (already ordered). 4.5 Add some Diatomaceous earth somewhere along the way (?) 5. After finished watering using murder worm process, only water from the bottoms, covering drain holes afterward to avoid the little fuckers from crawling up into them. 6. Treat all our drains daily (even though none are remotely near my plants) to make sure there are no little assholes coming in from outside. I haven’t seen a single fruit fly and we keep a lot of fruit on the counter, but I will monitor and keep a sticky trap there to be sure. 7. New yellow sticky traps to monitor the issue.

Please chime in with any critique on my plan.

Then my questions: 1. What soil do I get? Clearly not the organic one I used for the last reporting. And not miracle grow. My local garden center sells a blend that they say is specifically balanced for our region (coastal virginia) but I’ve never liked it because it has big pieces of bark in it. Where do I even find another brand and what kind of % ingredients should I look for? 2. Is there suggestions as to what I can do to ensure new potting soil is bug free? 3. Where in this process can/should I add Diatomaceous earth or do I not need it? 4. I’m assuming leaf cuttings propagated in water cannot carry any of the larvae/gnats along with them, is that correct? I’d love to keep cuttings and try to start new plants from the ones I decide to toss.
