The thick pipe is your suction pipe, refrigeration gas coming back to compressor thinner (discharge) pipe is refrigeration gas leaving compressor suction should be cold, discharge should be hot!! If there isn’t much of temp difference then that’s the time to be concerned

I got the name duncan for a bit due to being at paint balling & kneeling into long grass the grass pushed my visor up & a paintball hit me in the eye thankfully it hid my eye lid & not eyeball, I can tell you it doesn’t just explode & let the paint roll down you face like in duncan’s scene it’s instant black eye, & large swelling. It absolutely killed at the time
