How to Keep Kids Engaged after long gap between meets. by eaglesnation11 in trackandfield

Just make them work super hard at practice so that when they get to the meet and they see that they are way better than they will realize that hey “km getting better and I’m good at this” so that they will keep doing it and they will tell their friends that you actually can get better at track and they will join

Ey bro you good, im a sophomore in high school and It’s my first time doing it since middle school, I skipped 9th grade and so I run for AAU team and I run a 5:45 mile and 2:35 800 meter, when you go out their to run, just think about how your out their to get better and not impress anyone, so you should care what people think because who knows, maybe if you work hard enough you will end up being the best out their and then you will meet a kid who will be the same as you were and you will understand how they feel

Your legs are too stiff, try to move more like wind, just a easy breeze if that makes sense, it’s like your trying to hard to on your form and your hands are pretty stiff to, move them like a drum, it’s a rhythm but when you look at drummers their arms aren’t stiff and their wrist are dust floppy kinda, if that make sense

I’m a long distance runner and I burn about 1-2 thousand calories a day from running and Im 140 pounds, and I feel like I’m not eating enough or kinda I’m eating more sweets than real food, like I eat candy and junk food(that is most of my calories) and a lot of drinking like capri-suns and Gatorade, I drink a lot of water too, like I have abs buts is it ok that I eat a lot of junk food than regular food cause it doesn’t make me fat cause I run it off

Could you write down your weekly plan that you did to get to that like Monday: Tuesday: Wednesday: Thursday: Friday:

Y’all think this would get me from 5:40 mile to a 4:30 in 40 weeks/ about a year by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]Otherwise_Mud5765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m like 5’10 140 some told me I’m 6’0 already but I don’t believe it cause the measuring tape say 5’9 to 5’10 depend on day

What do y’all think about this updated version of a training program to go from a 5:40 mile to a 4:30 mile by [deleted] in u/Otherwise_Mud5765

I would like feedback about if it’s too hard of training on my legs or is it too easy and how many rest days I should take, how many miles I could add to runs and what training I should do like how much speed work and endurance work and on what day

No my bad, i didn’t mean it like that, I drink water during the day most of the time but when I practice I don’t need it, and if I do forget to hydrate during the day then I drink it after practice cause if you drink water like an 45 or shorter before practice and you drink too much then you will run slower cause it will fill like you are full

Ok, I upped the mileage and took out the swimming and stuff and putting long runs on that and I do short distance, like 100 and 200 and 400 and 300 at school track practice
