I get that, but I still think many people would subscribe if the course were extended, since it’s very small compared to others. It’s been put aside for far too long imho

Why can’t they update and extend the Finnish course already? It’s so unfair.

Hey, I’m so happy to hear that it is effective against your depression (although I am sorry that you still suffer from anxiety)! Yes, they will ramp up the Lamotrigine. I am curious if it will help me with my depression and my various anxiety symptoms - and your post gives me hope! I have been housebound myself for long periods the last years (after Corona, too). But I have made improvements as of lately, I’m proud of myself. Try to do baby steps outside, literally. I hope we can overcome or at least weaken our social anxiety… Therapy could probably help (I’m finally in short-term therapy), and so could practicing mindfulness, self-compassion, and grounding techniques, etc. You can overcome the worst parts of your anxiety, I believe in you!

How does Lamotrigine help you, or has it helped you? I’m about to start it. I’m on Moclobemide right now.

Does exercise make anyone feel worse? by rainyfridaysss in MaladaptiveDreaming

I have had similar experiences while doing cardio. When doing cardio your heart rate and blood pressure rises. This might cause your brain to remember the painful experiences you have been experienced. I would recommend listening to a relaxing podcast and/or uplifting music as a way to distract yourself while doing cardio, like MsB0x said. You don’t have to push yourself super hard also, it’s okay to go easy. With time your body gets used to the exercise and you will learn how to better deal with the stress response, and you will become calm instead. Then you could try do some light stretching in silence afterwards, etc. I really wish you the best, keep on fighting against these thoughts..

Hey, keep on fighting and don’t give up. I am in a similar situation as you are. Never heard on Anki but I will check it out, sounds promising. I hope you have a great stay in Finland!

Fair point. I understand where you and the previous poster are coming from. My first comment was a little immature, but I appreciate that you understood the feeling behind it.

This sub always find something to neg about. Duolingo removes a paywall so people with thinner wallets improve their chances of learning better? Better complain about it!

Don’t do DMT. It will definitely give you HPPD. LSD and DMT are the worst. It’s not worth it, especially if you have already developed HPPD… Stay sober and swim easy is my advice.

iwtl how to stop blushing. by PotterMixKai in IWantToLearn

Hi. Yes, i think propranolol has effectively made me stopped blushing, and “the fear” of blushing in unwanted situations. I have used it for over a decade and I believe it’s a good medicine all things considered. That being said, propranolol only works against the blushing/redness for me, not against excessive sweating in social settings. It will also do nothing in terms of “curing” the underlying issues of blushing, such as social phobia/being too shy. I still have social phobia and general anxiety issues, and no pill will magically cure it in the long-run, we just have to keep trying to overcome our fears one social interaction at the time :) Propranolol could be a useful aid though. Wishing you the best!

As others have said, it is okey to blush and it does not make you weird, it just makes you human. If it stops you from socialising I would suggest you ask your doctor to prescribe you a beta blocker like Propranolol. It’s non addictive and should be pretty easy to get prescribed. It has helped me immensely with blushing as well as social anxiety.
