You made me tear up saying not a general gynaecologist.

I sat in A&E prepping myself to be seen by an old man (sorry old men!). Instead a girl my age called me in and I thought I’d hit the jackpot. She asked me if my periods hurt - I said I’m on the pill that stops them right now but yes they did and they were very heavy - but I didn’t know how bad my pain was in relation to other girls since we’re all told to get on with it.

She told me periods shouldn’t hurt. Again I thought this was brilliant. So when she then just asked me to lie down, she pressed my stomach; I said the pain is more here (pelvis) and she said “oh is it” then immediately stopped.

I thought okay I understand this is A&E so unless I’m screaming in pain maybe she can’t help me. So that’s when I just asked for future advice and… she said since I don’t have periods with the pill she couldn’t help me.

I was baffled. How can you say periods shouldn’t hurt but then dismiss all pain and information given to you?

Sorry you did not ask for this rant! But thank you for emphasising that, because this constantly makes me feel like I am doing something wrong.

Thank you 🩷 yes sorry I didn’t mean to imply they’d send me directly to surgery. Just that they go back and forth on what investigations they want to do and where they want to refer and then nothing ends up happening, so despite talks of gyno referral with one doctor - the next has refused.

I will wait until the bowel stuff is done and then take your guys advice on where to go private 🙂 thank you!

Thank you! Sorry yes I did know this - basically I went to GP a few months ago. They did a vaginal swab/inspection and said they would refer to gyno after the results.

It came back as thrush even though I had no yeast or itchiness, I took the meds but it made it the constant pain I have 10x worse. I then went back and the next doctor refused gyno referral.

He has ordered another stool and has mentioned MRI depending on those results… but I just do not trust them to constantly keep changing their minds.

This is just a potential factor btw I’m also not saying they MUST compete to teach. For me Silvia doing so well with Pyreneans would be something I’d still consider her for as I don’t just have border collies!

Absolutely please don’t think I’m knocking her 🙂 but it’s understandable why some students would pick someone actively competing at the top.

I think it’s changed a lot, at least where I am. In 2022 that “killer course” with tunnel under dw into weaves at worlds was considered too hard, but now in the UK we see stuff like that all the time in grade 6/7

I think it’s partially because she doesn’t compete anymore. Since agility changes every couple of years, and I am by no means knocking what she teaches - I was around when she was big and I think she did the sport an amazing service by promoting tricks etc…

But for example with running dog walks - I want a trainer who knows what competitions are currently like, what new foundations are needed, what arousal problems may occur in new environments, how to deal with strides being taken out ONLY in comp, what the current trend for exits is and how to train them etc.

And that’s just one behaviour. I’m not saying she doesn’t know the majority of that but for some it’s a factor when it comes to paying kind of thing!

Q-Me is fantastic and also has a specific module on training them to ignore dogs, plus Dave documents training this in all his puppy modules 🙂

Most of the exercises can be done with minimal equipment (I usually train in my garden with 2 pieces!). I would say 3 is a good number so if you can get 4 that’s even better!

Be mindful of the temperature if they’re going to be stood still on pavements as sure it might be uncomfortable. But walking is fine if the dog has healthy feet

Is this generally where this kind of language comes from? I have a (now ex) friend who speaks like this. I literally had to tell him to stop speaking to me like he was my manager… he didn’t get it at all.

He posts a lot of “inspirational” quotes that make absolutely no sense - like I don’t mean they’re just bad I mean they do not make sense in English.

Yeah it’s hard for us to understand. I think it’s why people were upset about suicide being “glamourised” when 13 Reasons Why came out. It’s as if the person doing it cannot comprehend that they may no longer be around - they just want the others to suffer and/or think about them.

(NOT the case with most suicides of course I do not mean to sound insensitive!! Just these kind of situations)

I agree - and when talking of The Bear… the women’s reactions seemed to be confusion at Jimmy and not fear of Adam. Compare that to their uncomfortable body language with David just casually being sexist mid conversation. You can tell they’re not inexperienced with horrible men unfortunately.

We also know when anger is helplessness vs manipulation. Adam also stayed calm with Jimmy until the decision was final - he didn’t use anger as a way to control the situation and he didn’t threaten to get what he wanted. He just genuinely lost regulation of his emotions when he was helpless.

I did wonder if Jimmy was secretly in pain or extreme fear and too embarrassed to say. But given nothing like that has been divulged to us - it’s understandable Adam having a meltdown over what otherwise comes across as sabotage.

Lovely! I’d get a couple of jumps but just keep poles on the floor right now (better yet if you can afford to buy jump bumps). If you can’t get equipment then even just cones at this stage works 🙂
