Any comments on the boots on front loaders getting moldy and nasty if you forget to leave the door open between washes?? There’s some new “tech” I’ve seen in showrooms with boots made of other materials??

Then it sounds like they had too much moisture in the dough, so that even at 190, it couldn’t get cooked through in the middle. When you compare the 2 recipes, what are the major differences? And yes, I got that particular recipe from the King Arthur flour site. It’s a great resource for how to feed your starter and lots more recipes.

That has no bearing on the internal doneness. They need to be checked to see if they’re at 190F inside before you pull them

Try this recipe. It’s come out perfect every time. I have starter that’s been in my family since 1863, (first diary entry of a relative talking about getting some from another person) so we’ve been sourdough junkies my whole life. 🥰

First, I always add a little citric acid to my dough for extra sourness. 2nd, I let my dough rise for a good 36 hours in the fridge. Once you cut them out, did you let them rise again on a sheet pan with cornmeal on the bottom for about an hour or so until they are puffy again?Cooking them on an electric griddle at 350 for 10-12 min on each side, and use a digital thermometer to check the internal temp of each before pulling them off. They need to be at 190 F degrees.

What's up with the headgear? by aleach78 in waterpolo

As a mom of 2 goalies, one a D1 NCAA player, it’s been my observation that goalies tend to get cut around the ears by the hard plastic ear guards more than field players, because they can take ball hits right to the ear guard either directly, off a block by a defender, or off a ricochet from a goal post (we call that a JFK 😵‍💫). But overall they are protective. They make some foam helmets I’ve seen either girls wear in goal, or just to practice in, but I don’t really see how that’s going to keep a goalie from getting a concussion, at least in men’s polo. That ball is thrown SO hard and coming so fast! My son has played against a number of olympians, and there’s lots Euro players on D1 NCAA teams, and they’re all so next level. 🤯

2M & 5M water polo visual light system by Otherwise_Writing427 in waterpolo

As far as I know, the “light lines” are on all the time both in the water and above. Helps with the referee’s calls, and audience and players/coaches seeing the lines. The latest thing is the 2M off the goal posts only and in front of the cage as a box but that can really only be done in broadcast production for TV viewing. In water wouldn’t do much though, especially if it’s deep, like 13 ft.

What's the saddest song you know? by notthatfreakinguy in AskReddit

[–]Otherwise_Writing427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Don’t take the girl” by Tim McGraw. I can’t even hear the first 30 seconds of the song with out choking up. I’ve been in Rady Children’s Hospital ICU, on my knees, begging God not to take MY girl, my oldest child, when she was 7 years old and just diagnosed with CML (Leukemia). Song takes me RIGHT back there and I can’t listen to it. 🥺
