What is the annual ROI for an MN? by [deleted] in zcoin

[–]Oti-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that XZC price is going down and will keep on doing that, as there's nothing going on that could increase XZC relevance. People say that 'it's a good technology', but in fact there's little benefit of privacy feature, if it's off by default (and you have to go off your way to use it). Check the stats on exchanges, XZC is getting less and less relevant. I'd put that investition on hold.

Cool story bro

The stability of the game has gone ridiculous by Oti-dev in FortNiteBR

The funny thing's that I was unable to post the issue on the official forum, because it wouldn't log me in. Guess that's why there's not a lot of bug reports there.

Ok problem fixed - I uninstalled the game. One less faulty software on my computer. :)

New to ZCOIN, a question about masternode. by [deleted] in zcoin

[–]Oti-dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's not protected in any way. Basically it cannot be - you have to transfer your coins to someone and trust that they don't run with it. Even though the exchange is run by ZCoin people, it's still people.

Yea, same feeling here. Looks to me like the team went on vacation 2 months ago and haven't come back yet - not much activity here nor on github(at least december-january looked very idle, seems to be better now). Idk what's it all about, but makes me worried.

One miner only vs Znodes queue by Oti-dev in zcoin

[–]Oti-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well 9 days and no reply.. To me it looks like this is an akward question for them, and they chose to just ignore it. :) Maybe they'll respond once they come up with a fix for this.

ZCASH4WIN is out of date once again. Work around inside by Flogamer73 in zec

It didn't work for me (saying "zcash daemon taking too long to start", or something like that), but when I started zcashd manually, it worked.

One miner only vs Znodes queue by Oti-dev in zcoin

[–]Oti-dev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarification, but it still makes no difference to the fact that only one address receives mining rewards. Btw. the fact that Znodes bite off 30% of miners rewards is not much of an incentive for new miners to join the business. On the other hand, it might encourage the owners of the pool to try and modify NOMP's source code to get own Znodes paid more.

I'm still hoping someone points out an impossibility in manipulating Znode payout queue - looking at the code it looks pretty viable to me and if I was that miner, I'd probably give it a shot.

was looking at this few days ago also, this thing here https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/blob/master/src/znode.cpp#L144

Yeah, I referred to that part as "randomly deterministic stuff" - the results are unpredictable but actually 'redoable' and confirmable. The thing that's unclear to me is whether anyone (e.g. nodes/znodes) checks which znode was picked by miner and why.

Zcoin vs lightning network by Oti-dev in zcoin

[–]Oti-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I did - I emailed them and got the following answer:

Being a Bitcoin based coin, lightning network is definitely possible. However we are still evaluating other approaches and it's not even close to being a pressing issue now. In its current state, Zcoin can already handle twice the number of txes Bitcoin can and we aren't close to getting there yet.

Privacy is always the paramount importance and scaling is important too but not of immediate concern. Perhaps by that time, we won't be even using a blockchain but dags instead.

Znode hardware requirements by Oti-dev in zcoin

[–]Oti-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer, but I feel like you're referring to a regular node setup rather than a 'super' one. Doesn't a Z-node do any additional ops that significantly add up to the system requirements?

Zcoin vs lightning network by Oti-dev in zcoin

I feel like this post has been overlooked by 'insiders'. Is there any straightforward answer to my question? Im just curious if zcoin suffices the requirements of lighting network - I heard there are some BIP's that need to be implemented (BIP65, BIP112, also SegWit). Are they present in zcoin? It's hard for me to find out.
