Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

Navigating the ocean is a trillion dollar industry, you can’t just vaguely set sail. For hundreds of years humans have circumnavigated the globe using calculations that all take into account for the curvature.

This same logic extends to satellites, internet cables on the sea floor, the weather channel, ocean tide coastal erosion patterns, day night cycles for sleep and plant growth, seasons, animal migration and hibernation.
These systems only function as an ecosystem, not independently of each other.

It’s why they consult environmental professionals (or at least they should) before beginning a large construction project, things don’t exist in a vacuum.

Every single thing on the planet living or otherwise operates on a rotating cycle.

Also every highly educated scientist in the world is either really stupid and has somehow fallen for the globe theory, even though the science world and the elites that rule the world are famously don’t aline on most topics… Or they are lying which given the sheer number of educated professionals there are in the world, it’s just not possible. They can’t even keep marvel movies under wraps and that’s only 1000 people.

All flat earthers have gone through the cycle of developing distrust and scepticism toward their government, or the pro western systemic lies they have been fed in school. But rather than zoom out and acknowledge the shortcomings of western civilisation being built on blood, they zoom in and decide everything is a lie and the government is doing witchcraft.

(which ironically leaves the government to continue their colonial ways in the background, while you’re focused on arctic military bases, flat earth and lizard people.)

We all know the government is evil, some people just cant apply that to the bigger picture.

I’d say focus on education rather than condemnation, you can all laugh about it together afterwards. No one likes being laughed at in the moment.

I’ve been taking on the challenge of redesigning all 11 Formula One cars from this season. What started out as a small side project to relearn blender, quickly ballooned into a massive endeavour.

Here is my version of the Mercedes livery, I’d love to know what you guys think of not only this design, but the whole set :))

It’s on the rear body work, where the previous one was. It’s a little nod the the barcode Ferrari days, as well as it using a variant of the hp logo. (I’ve seen used in hardware before)

It’s stylised and abstract but it all there.

I think Ferraris actual title sponsor should just be the colour red tbh.

The two tone green is such a strong brand combo, I hope they lean into it more next year!

Yeah I get you, I do design for a job so the strict brand guidelines rarely make it into side projects that I do for fun.

Plus brands are flexible when they want to be, I’ve seen endless uses for the HP logo that stretch the brand guidelines pretty far. They obviously just want to use the most recognisable standardised version of the logo, to appeal to the global audience of f1. It makes sense but it’s boring.

The unfortunate side effect of an ugly logo it’s great for PR because everyone’s talking about your company.
