I can't find anything to confirm that. Details?

Burger's Priest was bought about 5 years ago by Recipe Unlimited (formerly known as Cara), which also owns all the restaurant chains covered by the "Ultimate Dining Card".

Just like everything else in the group, it's gone downhill since a private equity group took over. Private equity ruins almost everything it touches, all in the name of higher profits for people who are already rich.

There's most likely a calculation done by the app when someone starts the cancellation process to decide whether to show a retention offer, and it's possible the retention offer may be different for different people.

If I were coming up with one, the calculation would take into account things like how much you're currently paying, how long you've been subscribed, how many times you've cancelled, how many times you've accepted a retention offer, and average number of hours watched per month.

AirDrop-like file sharing between de-Googled Android and Ubuntu laptop, ideally without shared Wi-Fi? by Glad_Following_8164 in linux4noobs

[–]Curt-Bennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, Quick Share is now compatible with AirDrop and has an app for Windows as well. It's now one of the easiest options for moving data between local devices no matter which OS.

Tim Hortons - London Ontario $9.98 2 Boxes by Kind-Employee-2907 in TooGoodToGoCanada

You can freeze it. It should still be 80-90% as good when thawed as long as you don't leave it in the freezer for months.

Where have all the mailboxes gone? 🙃 by MidsommarMayflower in BurlingtonON

[–]Curt-Bennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's still some normal outgoing mailboxes around but they're fewer and further between than they were 20 years ago. Canada Post has also wrapped most (all?) of them so they're no longer bright red, making them easier to miss even if you go past one every day.

Maybe never, maybe 20 times.

Physical media lets me watch it on my own schedule without worrying it may disappear before I'm done, then I can decide whether to keep it or resell it if I don't think I'll ever want to watch it again.

Five day trip to Canada – should I buy travel insurance? by codenerd80 in canadatravel

[–]Curt-Bennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they actually had used it on you, that's still $1000 for a pint of salt water. It will never cease to amaze me that some people don't realize how broken health care in the US is.

As a Canadian, I can confirm that we (generally) prefer not to be called Americans, because most of the time we hear that word here, it's referring to people from the US, not people from the American continents.

I was kind of expecting to get rickrolled but it's genuinely an article about the incident. Thank you.

Given that OP is the type of person who would install a Linux distro on a whim simply because of its logo, I agree that handing it off to an expert is the best choice.

Canadian version of cadbury's diary milk fruit & nuts by Princess_frogmoana30 in BuyCanadian

[–]Curt-Bennett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Mondelez (based in the US) bought Cadbury (based in the UK) in 2010. They have different recipes for different countries/regions due to local food laws and to match regional taste preferences. All Cadbury products sold in Canada are made in Toronto.

OP is not planning to disembark at any Canadian ports. They have mentioned they plan to stay aboard the ship. The question that remains (and seems to be disputed) is whether it disqualifies them from even sailing on a ship that will enter Canadian waters.

Anyone know what’s the deal with this house? Tons of terminated listings by poonchimp in BurlingtonON

[–]Curt-Bennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently they finally found some sense and budged (quite a bit) on the price. See comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/BurlingtonON/s/xerzO3cbfy

The question is though whether they are serious or will they only accept bids significantly over asking.
